Situate is a boutique firm based in Edmonton, offering integrated strategic and municipal planning and project support services to community-minded builders, developers and not-for-profits. Here’s the important thing: we don’t use templates and we don’t believe in copy-and-paste solutions. We’ll engage tirelessly with you to co-create projects that live and breathe in the real world (instead of gathering dust on a bookshelf). An avid community builder, Chelsey Jersak founded Situate in 2016 after a decade of leading strategic and urban planning projects in the public and private sectors. Consistently balancing innovation with pragmatism, her work focuses on advice, policy and regulatory solutions to address root problems and achieve tangible results. Chelsey’s writing has appeared in Plan Canada, Curb Magazine, Municipal World, and the Alberta Professional Planners Institute (APPI) Journal, and she’s presented at national and provincial planning conferences in Alberta, British Columbia, and Yukon Territory. Chelsey holds a bachelor’s degree in regional and urban development and a master’s degree in human geography, and is a Registered Professional Planner and certified Project Management Professional(PMP®). She is an active member of the Alberta District Council of the Urban Land Institute, policy director with the Infill Development in Edmonton Association (IDEA), and is a founding member and past coordinator of the Child Friendly Housing Coalition of Alberta.
