And this is how fraud starts off ... with
an innocent email . Almost looks legit but there are a few key things that can identify this as fake.
It is important for a small business owner and personal tax filer to identify if is truly trying to contact you or not. Here are the three things that indicate that this is a
#1 CRA never emails you that there is money being refunded to you. If you are signed up for their mailing list they will notify you about new message in your CRA mail box.
#2 CRA will never contact you to refund it by credit card...let a lone a debit card. If you have it on file they will deposit there..or send a cheque in the mail.
#3 "Please note: Office will never request your password or .." - OK this is red flag. When you click on "claim it today" it leads to a number to call and they ask there. DO NOT CALL. They will also send you a fake login to collect your information as well. This is also a scam.
