December tends to bring about that "circling back to the New Year" feeling...yet it is PRIME TIME for networking and building relationships.
Think about it...many people start slowing down, but the ones who stay connected, set themselves up for a stronger start in the new year. Here are a few, simple ways to stay top-of-mind with your referral partners.
1. Reach out to your existing network, not to pitch them, but to genuinely connect and send good wishes. A small gesture that goes a LONG way.
2. Attend an extra event this month outside of your regular networking efforts. This could be your social events, family gatherings, friend get-togethers, and more.
3. Be the person who introduces people. Even in social gatherings, connecting others who have shared interests will make you memorable.
4. Share a quick post reflecting on your year. It shows that you're still around and allows others to connect with you in a different context than they may be used to.
5. Book that lunch/coffee/1:2:1 NOW for January. This ensures that you hit the new year running before the calendar fills up with all the post-holiday stuff.
We HIGHLY encourage you to take some time and relax over the holidays while enjoying time with loved ones...yet many opportunities still present themselves for building relationships.
BONUS TIP: Be prepared with 2-3 high impact questions that are NOT about generating business or referrals today, but it's about learning more about the person you are connecting with.
