Workplace Wellness Champions are the backbone of inclusive, effective Workplace Wellness programs and thriving organizations.

They spark a grassroots culture of well-being—encouraging participation, reducing barriers, and supporting Workplace Wellness Ambassadors (WWCOE-trained WW leaders) in facilitating wellness offerings that resonate with employees and leaders.

Becoming a successful Workplace Wellness Champion takes commitment, strategic training/skill-building, and strong leadership sponsorship, but the impact is powerful: higher engagement, a stronger community, and a healthier organization.

***Become a “WORKPLACE WELLNESS CHAMPION” starting this August!***

Our new, self-paced, highly interactive “Workplace Wellness Champion Certificate Course”, commencing this August, will equip you with implementable tools, proven strategies, expert support, a Champion Network to lean on, and the confidence to develop, facilitate, and lead inclusive wellness initiatives for your team and organization.

What is something that has been intimidating you but an important goal that you really want to achieve?

Me: I’m officially done letting the chin‑up bar intimidate me.

It’s just steel and gravity—and I’m bringing determination, patience, and a little bit of stubbornness.

I might not be cranking out perfect reps yet, but I’m showing up, grabbing that bar, and giving it everything I’ve got — if only dead hanging for eight seconds at a time!

I am so determined to master one full chin up this year (and have not been able to always get to the bar at our gym due to high demand for the machine its on) that I had my lovely husband install one in our basement!

Here’s the real deal!

Every attempt counts.

Every second I hang there is a step closer.

Today, I’m not avoiding the challenge.

I’m ready to tackle the beast of the chin‑up bar and make it happen!

How about you?

What beast are you ready to tackle?

"Success, Stress, and the Scale: Decoding Cortisol’s Silent Impact on Women's Bodies"

As a woman in a leadership role, you are likely familiar with the pressures of high stakes, constant decision-making, emotional labor, and the invisible expectation to “hold it all together.”

You may be eating well and exercising when possible, yet still find yourself questioning: Why isn’t the scale moving? A significant—and often underestimated—culprit is stress, particularly the hormone cortisol.

This issue transcends willpower or discipline.

It is rooted in physiology.

By understanding how stress and cortisol disrupt your body’s weight regulation systems, you gain a strategic advantage: you can shift from fighting against your biology to working in harmony with it.

I invite you to share in the comments what strategies help you decode and rebalance your stress.

Weight loss is often framed as a victory, and we forget what it quietly takes away.

When your body changes (especially on GLP-1s), pieces of your identity, routines, and even relationships can shift too—and that can hurt in ways that don’t show up on a scale.

This issue of Executive Wellness UNPLUGGED explores the hidden side of transformation: grieving the old self you’re leaving behind, honoring who you were, and making space for who you’re becoming.

As a manager or executive used to navigating high-stakes decisions, complex teams, and constant change, nothing quite prepares you for the quiet, disorienting grief that can potentially follow after rapid weight loss (particularly from GLP‑1 medications). As the pounds drop, colleagues applaud you...

GLP-1s have been heralded as one of the most significant recent advances in the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes.

For employers, this shift has been both an opportunity and a cost challenge.

On one hand, GLP‑1s offer the potential to reduce long‑term medical spend associated with obesity‑related conditions, improve employee health, and potentially boost productivity and presenteeism.

On the other hand, the drugs’ high list prices and rapidly growing demand have driven sharp increases in pharmacy benefit costs, forcing employers to revisit plan design, prior authorization criteria, and coverage policies...

Women HR and Workplace Wellness leaders...

Are you constantly racing to put out fires—only to realize your most important goals keep slipping to “later”?

In my latest issue of "Fearless & Flourishing," I explore how high-performing women unintentionally trade long-term impact for short-term demands, and what to do about it.

Continue reading below and let me know in the comments if this hit home and what resonated!

Dear women HR and Workplace Wellness leaders, I have a critical question for you! Do you tend to sacrifice the important for the urgent? If I'm being honest, I am occasionally guilty of this. Specifically, when I prioritize something seemingly urgent, it's often my way of procrastinating uncomfortab

🤔 An unexpected, online lesson from my daughter: Do you REACT or RESPOND to social media?

A recent IG post by my daughter (a content creator for children’s app, PokPok) really got me thinking from an emotional wellbeing perspective.

Do you REACT or RESPOND to social media?

Doomscrolling trains your nervous system to live on edge.

You’re not just consuming content—you’re rehearsing a *pattern*:

- See a post
- Feel a spike (anger, envy, fear, outrage)
- React fast
- Scroll on

That loop slowly rewires your brain to:
- Seek the next hit instead of the full truth
- Chase emotion instead of understanding
- Prioritize speed over depth

Reacting is automatic.
Responding is intentional.

Reacting says:
- “This made me feel something, so it must be true.”

Responding asks:
- “What’s actually going on here?”
- “Is this worth my energy?”
- “Am I adding light or just more noise?”
- How is this supporting or depleting my emotional wellbeing?

Before you comment, share, or quote-tweet, try a “5-second pause”:

1. Notice your body (tight chest, fast breath, clenched jaw?)
2. Name the emotion (angry, threatened, jealous, scared?)
3. Choose your role (bystander, amplifier, or actual contributor)

Your attention is a currency.
Your reactions are votes.
Your responses are values.

When you scroll today, watch yourself like an observer.

Are you being *led* by the feed, or are you *leading* your own mind?

So, in your own behavior online:

Are you mostly REACTING… or actually RESPONDING?

Share your thoughts and experiences below! I’d love to hear them.
