From Nigeria through Denmark, to Lethbridge, her passion for relationship building and community engagement has taken her from Computer Science to Public Health and to starting the Genesis Exotic Market (GEM).

Olutoyin Oyebola, popularly known as Toyin by all is a Nigerian Canadian who resides in
the Southern Albertan city of Lethbridge.
With her husband in 2017, they started the Genesis Exotic Market (GEM) in Lethbridge Alberta. This is an exotic retail store located in Lethbridge Alberta. It provides commercial services to meet the dietary and fashion needs of immigrants with nostalgia, and to the generality of Canadians with adventurous taste. This commercial centre captures the needs of its customers and provides adequate solution.
Toyin is one of the initiators of the newly rebranded Association of Nigerians in Lethbridge (ANL). She was a member of the caretaker committee who came together to chart a new course for the association by developing new constitutions and by laws.
The dynamic entrepreneur and community leader is also dedicated/committed to mentoring adolescent and young adult immigrants, especially among the young international students. Having been once an international student herself, Toyin understands their struggles and challenges especially regarding adaptation to their new community.
The GEM founder runs Graceful Friends in her spare time. This she founded to provide role modelling, mentorship and to enable capacity building for young black kids as they navigate through elementary and high school.
On Diversity and Inclusion, she’s is a regular participant at the different organized Southern Alberta Ethnic Association summer gatherings. She anchored 2022 Heritage Day event in Lethbridge.
