The iconic Paramount Theatre is getting a second chance.

After sitting vacant for more than a decade, Edmonton-based Gather Co. has purchased the historic Paramount Block with plans to restore the theatre and revitalize the surrounding buildings.

The company hopes to begin exterior restoration this year, welcome new retail and hospitality tenants as early as next spring, and bring the Paramount back as a cultural landmark for Edmonton.
