Responsibilities:

Ensuring that paint and painting tools and equipment are stored in the appropriate areas
Ensuring that the areas where paints are stored are clean properly arranged and organized
Mixing colors or oils to attain a desired color or consistency and to meet the satisfaction of the client
Covering wall surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to ensure protection during painting
Preparing the surface properly before painting by removing old paint
Painting walls with the use of the appropriate equipment such as brushes, rollers, and spray guns
Coming up with a correct and accurate estimate for a project
Ensuring that all necessary safety and health regulations are strictly adhered to
Paying attention and listening to customer preferences actively
Wall covering applications
Working alone and/ or with a team
Requirements:

Good communication skills, as a wall painter is required to interact with clients and respect their demands to meet their satisfaction
An aesthetic sense which enables a wall painter to make some judgement calls in his/her work when needed, as he/she must have a strong sense of what looks good
Detail-oriented mind, since a wall painter is expected to pay attention to details, such as crisp, clean edges, even coats, and well-adhered layers.
Physical dexterity, strength, and balance which involves the strength and physical skills to move in various positions and handle equipment safely and efficiently
Time management skills, as he/she must give an accurate estimate of how long a job will take and must complete the job within the set deadline
Familiarity and proficiency with required tools.
At least one year of relevant painting experience
One or more years of apprenticeship training.

Job Responsibilities:

*Measure, cut and fit drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings.
*Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
*Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
*Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife.
*Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry.
*Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
*Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
*Ensuring that paint and painting tools and equipment are stored in the appropriate areas.
*Ensuring that the areas where paints are stored are clean properly arranged and organized.
*Mixing colors or oils to attain a desired color or consistency and to meet the satisfaction of the client.
Surface preparation
*Experience using various painting tools, equipment and working at various heights.
*Setting up and dismantling scaffolding.
*Ensuring that all necessary safety and health regulations are strictly adhered to
