A Friendly Reminder to Seasonal Property Owners 🚒
As we head into another busy summer, we’d like to remind everyone with cottages on seasonal roads, that keeping your road clear could make all the difference in an emergency.
Fire trucks are much larger than most people realize. Overgrown trees and brush can prevent emergency vehicles from getting through safely, causing delays when every second counts. Low-hanging branches can also damage fire apparatus and make it difficult for firefighters to reach you.
Please take a few minutes to:
🌲 Cut back trees and brush along your seasonal road.
🚒 Ensure there is enough width and height for emergency vehicles to pass safely.
🔄 Make sure there is adequate room for a fire truck to turn around if needed. Our trucks cannot back long distances down narrow roads safely, especially in emergency situations.
These simple steps help protect not only your property, but also your family, your neighbours, and the firefighters responding to an emergency.
