I'm so EXCITED for this Harvey Update!
My lovely vet was also extremely excited & very surprised to see the amazing progress that our wonderful barn manager, barn staff, and fantastic farrier have managed to make with Harvey's coffin bone rotation & body condition. His FL has corrected from 16 degrees rotation to 10 degrees!!! His FR has corrected from 8 degrees to a mere 5 degrees!
My vet held very little hope that I'd be able to ride Harvey again, but today she recommended starting 4-5 days a week of 20mins of loose walking under saddle and if all goes well, gradually adding trot work at week 5!!! 😁😁😁
Harvey can have 1 carrot per visit as he's not positive for EMS, and even more exciting is that he can do full day turnout in October on grazed down paddocks with his friends!
I'm a wee bit emotional right now as this started on May 2nd and so has been a very stressful & very expensive 4 months of thinking that I'd never be able to ride Harvey or turn him out on grass ever again. A HUGE thank you to Whitney ,Courtney ,Brooke B., Matt Mousseau (farrier), Dr. Amy , Jorden (Bodywork Practitioner & fantastic friend) and all of the supportive Genesis family for helping us to get through this so far 💜 I am so very grateful to have a knowledgeable & compassionate team on our side.
