🚒 Food & Toy Drive This Saturday! 🚒

Hello everyone! We recently discovered that a few houses were missed when we dropped off the empty bags for our annual food and toy drive. If you didn’t get a bag don’t worry! You have a couple of easy options.

You can drop off your items at the fire hall this Saturday between 10 a.m. and noon.
Alternatively, you can leave your donation in any bag or cardboard box on your doorstep, and we’ll swing by to collect it. We will be picking up donations this Saturday starting at 10 Am. If your donation hasn’t been picked up by noon, please feel free to send us a message, and we’ll make sure to stop by your house.

Thank you all for your generosity and understanding. Let’s keep making a difference together!

Exciting News Fairview! 🚒

Today is a milestone day for the Fairview Fire Department! We are thrilled to announce that we’ve just taken possession of our brand-new rescue truck. This state-of-the-art apparatus will be stepping in to replace our old faithful 1992 unit, which has served our community for over three decades. It’s a little bittersweet to say goodbye to an old friend, but we are so excited for the enhanced capabilities and safety features this new truck brings.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Town and the MD councils for their unwavering support. Your commitment helps us not only improve the services we provide but also inspires new volunteers to join our ranks. We’re incredibly proud of this addition to our fleet that will serve the community well for many years to come!

The Fairview Fire Department wishes the injured Dawson Creek firefighter a full and speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, their family, and their fellow firefighters during this incredibly difficult time.

Events like this are a sobering reminder of the risks every firefighter faces while protecting their communities.

We ask the public to please slow down, move over, and stay alert when approaching emergency scenes. First responders work only feet away from moving traffic, often in poor visibility and hazardous conditions. A moment’s inattention can change lives forever.

Update October 30, 2025: Comments have been turned off on this post due to the sensitive nature of the situation. We ask that the public remains respectful of all involved.

Media Release – Firefighter Injured at Scene

Just before 8:00am this morning, Dawson Creek Fire Rescue crews responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle incident on Highway 97 South near the Groundbirch area. While on scene one of our members was struck by a passing motor vehicle.

The firefighter was transported by ground ambulance to Chetwynd Hospital, and subsequently medevaced to Prince George for further treatment.

We would like to thank our colleagues at BC Ambulance and the Dawson Creek RCMP Detachment, as well as the civilians on scene that assisted with his treatment.
No further details are available at this time.

Our thoughts are with our injured member, their family, and our entire fire department family during this difficult time.
