My 12-year-old daughter started complaining about terrible pain in her jaw, and I thought she simply had a toothache, so I took her to the dentist. But during the examination, the dentist unexpectedly pulled a strange object out of her jaw, turned pale, and said, "Ma'am, who did this to your daughter? I need to call the police immediately." When I found out exactly what had been inside my child's mouth, my hands began trembling with horror 😱😨
It all started on a Sunday evening when my twelve-year-old daughter came home after spending the weekend with her father.
My ex-husband and I had divorced several years earlier, but he continued to see our daughter regularly. Usually, after these visits, she came home cheerful, telling me where they had gone and what they had bought. But that evening, everything was different.
My daughter barely spoke, refused dinner, and went straight to her room.
When I asked what was wrong, she complained about pain in her lower jaw.
At first, I thought she had accidentally hurt herself while playing, but my daughter insisted that nothing like that had happened.
Then I decided the problem must be with her teeth. At her age, that happens quite often, especially when a child loves sweets.
"You probably ate too much candy at Daddy's house. It'll go away soon," I told her, without realizing just how wrong I was.
But the pain didn't go away.
Later that night, my daughter started crying. She held the right side of her face and said it hurt even to open her mouth.
I gave her a painkiller, but it barely helped.
By the following morning, things had gotten even worse. The right side of her jaw was noticeably swollen, she couldn't speak properly, and she struggled to drink even a few sips of water.
I became frightened and immediately drove her to a dental clinic.
The dentist listened carefully to my explanation, asked my daughter to open her mouth, and began examining her.
At first, he seemed completely calm, but when he reached the back teeth on the right side, his expression suddenly changed.
He asked his assistant to bring him another instrument and directed the examination light straight into my daughter's mouth.
"Please tell me, has your daughter had any dental procedures recently?" he asked.
"No, of course not. The last time we visited a dentist was several months ago. Why? What's wrong?"
The dentist didn't answer immediately.
He carefully examined the swollen gum and then said that an X-ray needed to be taken urgently.
A few minutes later, we were looking at the monitor together.
Inside my daughter's jaw was a small object that absolutely should not have been there.
"Is that a piece of metal?" I asked.
"It's difficult to say right now, but it's definitely not a tooth or ordinary dental material."
After further examination, the dentist explained that a severe inflammation had developed around the object and that it needed to be removed immediately.
I stood beside my daughter while he carefully extracted something from her gum under local anesthesia.
Finally, the dentist placed a small object on a metal tray. He examined the discovery closely, then turned toward me.
"Ma'am, who did this to your daughter? I need to call the police immediately."
I had absolutely no idea what was happening.
