A repeat but worth re reading.

A common mistake with evaluating a heat stressed patient is looking at the presence of or absence of sweat. This is misleading and inaccurate.

The best portal into the condition of a heat stressed patient is level of consciousness. If a heat stressed patient has a decreased level of consciousness, consider them a heat stroke patient.

As per RAW Medicine Podcast ‘s infographic, an accurate and up to date graphic, if you find seizures,agitation, confusion, slurred speech,or loss of consciousness, this is a life threatening heat stroke.

Heat stroke is an imminent life threat. Cool immediately as a critical intervention. Do not transport until you have initiated aggressive cooling.
