A major milestone for our region and Alberta's economic future!

Today, our newly acclaimed Chamber President, Gerald Corbiere, and Executive Director, Colin Fagnan, were pleased to join ATCO, government officials, industry leaders, and community stakeholders to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Yellowhead Pipeline Project, one of Alberta's largest energy infrastructure investments.

Representing an estimated $2.9 billion investment, the 235-kilometre pipeline will deliver more than one billion cubic feet of natural gas daily to Alberta's Industrial Heartland, supporting industrial expansion, thousands of jobs, and billions in future economic opportunities.

As one of our Chamber's highest-tier Visionary Members, ATCO continues to demonstrate tremendous confidence in our region and Alberta's economic future. Investments of this magnitude are essential to strengthening our industrial competitiveness and creating long-term prosperity for our communities.

We congratulate ATCO on this remarkable milestone and look forward to the opportunities this project will unlock. The Yellowhead Pipeline will quite literally help fuel our region's prosperity for generations to come!

Pacific Link has officially been designated a project of national interest by the Government of Canada

The Fort Saskatchewan & Lamont County Regional Chamber of Commerce welcomes today's announcement that Pacific Link, the proposed West Coast oil pipeline originating near Bruderheim, has officially been designated a project of national interest by the Government of Canada.

"Located at the heart of the region known as Alberta's Industrial Heartland, our communities are exceptionally well positioned to support major investments of this scale. The potential benefits extend well beyond the pipeline itself, creating opportunities across construction, manufacturing, logistics, professional services, skilled trades, and the many businesses that support Canada's industrial economy."
— Colin Fagnan, Executive Director

There is still important work ahead, but today's announcement represents meaningful progress for a project with the potential to bring significant investment and economic opportunity to our region, Alberta, and Canada.
