Highlights from this morning’s sunrise! This was the scene over the Nashwaak River around 7:28 AM It felt like being in a rose coloured dome, and the silence was deafening.

Captured a pair of Bald Eagles this morning, flying along the Nashwaak River to their favourite roosting tree that is located on the delta where the Nashwaak meets the Wolastoq (Saint John River).

A pretty cold start to the day at Zero degrees, and clouds were rolling around to challenge the sunrise. Patience however paid off as just about 10 minutes from sunrise the skies turned red and gold and a pair of Bald Eagles flew over on their way to their favourite roosting spot at the delta where the Nashwaak River meets The Wolastoq.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! A warmer day is on the schedule for us this holiday Monday with a high of 18 promised in the forecast. It was a pleasant and peaceful hike this morning.

Minus 1 was the crazy number that we started this glorious day with. It should get to 14 by the afternoon. Beautiful skies at twilight and sunrise today and frost left over from overnight. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

So here’s a sampling of the two young bucks that I spotted in the sports field just off the Gibson Trail on the North side this morning at sunrise. This is the first deer sighting for me, in maybe a couple of months. Enjoy!

A pretty cool start to Saturday at 4 degrees, but the clear skies allow us to view a great looking twilight sky and ultimate sunrise. A Bald Eagle glided overhead on the Nashwaak River and for the first time in a long time, I spotted some White-tailed Deer in the sports field on the Gibson Trail.
