Learn basic weaves and how to add texture to your project, then learn how to take your weave off the loom and hang from a piece of driftwood. All materials provided.

Looking for volunteers!

Do you thrive in a fast paced, ever changing environment? If so it’s time to come work and play where the community gathers, and where you can make a difference to the quality of life and the environment on Gabriola.

The Gabriola Island Recycling Organization (GIRO) is committed to reducing landfill waste by a wide range of initiatives. Right now the clothing and textile department is looking for an individual who can help us keep up with the ever increasing demand for quality items at affordable prices.

If you can give us a few hours a week we can provide you with a great volunteer experience and a few perks as well. No particular skills are required, just bring your energy and enthusiasm as well as a commitment to making GIRO one of the best thrift shop experiences anywhere.
