Friday Sept.4th:
Our fire danger rating dropped to moderate yesterday afternoon. A 1 hour fire watch is required post machine work. All other machine use restrictions have been lifted. All open burning remains banned, except for campfires. -Campfires should not be used to burn yard waste.
-Dry seasoned firewood only in a safe and prepared site.
-Campfires must be extinguished with water to until cool to the touch.
Please remember to check daily for changes, here or on the website ( link in first comment) . Dry conditions could persist through the month. Please continue to be aware of restrictions.

Thursday Sept.3rd:
As of yesterday afternoon our fire danger rating was still HIGH. We did receive some rain in the late afternoon and night that may lower our rating. We await a decision by Coastal Fire Service this afternoon. In the meantime consider the rating to be on HIGH. We have lifted the 1pm shut down for all but the following activities:
Mechanical land clearing
Mechanical brushing
Timber harvesting( including harvesting for firewood)
Milling
Disc Trenching
Blasting
Welding/cutting tools
Stump removal
Maintenance of commercial and private right of ways.

Thursday Sept.3rd:
BC wildfire has lifted the ban on campfires in our area as of noon today. All other open burning ( including burn barrels) remains banned.
Yard waste must NOT be burned on campfires. Only dry seasoned firewood in a prepared and appropriate site,with ample water to put it out until cool to the touch. See picture below for size restrictions on campfires.
Please use extreme caution and common sense.

Wednesday September 2nd:
We sure are hoping the forecasted rain for today comes to fruition and makes an impact, until that time our current fire danger rating remains on HIGH and the 1 pm shut down followed by 2 hours of fire watch restriction is in effect.A fire watch should occur throughout the machine work and 2 hours post machine work and requires access to ample water supply as well as at least one fire fighting tool (shovel) ,per person on sight.
All open burning including campfires remains banned.

It’s the first day of September,and despite that Fall feeling in the air our current fire danger rating is HIGH and the 1 pm shut down followed by 2 hours of fire watch restriction is in effect.A fire watch should occur throughout the machine work and 2 hours post machine work and requires access to ample water supply as well as at least one fire fighting tool (shovel) ,per person on sight.
All open burning including campfires remains banned.

All open burning including campfires remains banned.

Saturday August 22nd:
Hey Folks,
We are still very much on EXTREME, we are hopeful that the forecasted rain comes to fruition and has an effect on our danger rating. Make sure to check and not assume changes have occurred post rain fall.
The following activities are currently banned entirely due to our EXTREME fire danger rating:
-Mechanical land clearing
-Mechanical brushing
-Timber harvesting( including harvesting for firewood)
-Wood milling
-Disc trenching
-Blasting
-Welding/ cutting tools
-Stump removal
-Maintenance of commercial and private right of ways ( examples: right of ways to forest lots or power lines)
All other activities (pictured below)are restricted to 1pm shut down ( followed by a 2 hour fire watch). A fire watch must include access to ample water and at least one fire fighting tool ( shovel).
Items of note:
Please note that chainsaw use for residential dangerous tree removal is still allowed ( until 1 pm with a 2 hour fire watch)
Machine use is still permitted for activities such as septic field installation ( until 1 pm with a 2 hour fire watch)
Campfires and all open burning remains banned.
Our province is in a state of emergency due to wild fires in BC. We ask that you adhere to all restrictions with the utmost caution and common sense.
