When your child's teacher cries during graduation, you realize just how much love, patience, and care they have poured into your child. Their tears say, "I'm proud of you," but they also say, "I'm going to miss you."
And that's when I started crying too.
My boy is graduating from elementary school.
As parents, we spend years hoping we're doing enough, wondering if we're raising kind and good human beings. So when Ethan's teachers told me, "You raised a very good boy. He is polite, respectful, always willing to help others, and kind to his classmates and teachers," my heart was full.
Those words meant more to me than any report card ever could.
I still remember your first two years in French school. There were many tears and many conversations about wanting to move to an English school because it felt so hard. As your mom, it broke my heart to see you struggle. But you kept going. You persevered. You showed up every day and gave it your best, even when it wasn't easy.
And today, here you are.
You did it.
I am so proud of you, Ethan. Truly proud beyond words. Sometimes I look at you and wonder where the years went. It feels like just yesterday I was holding your little hand on your first day of school, and now you're standing here ready for your next chapter.
Mr. Mario and Ms. Francy, thank you for believing in Ethan, encouraging him through the challenges, and helping him grow into the young boy he is today. French wasn't always easy, but with your guidance, patience, and support, he made it through. You are a very important part of his success story.
As Ethan closes this chapter, he leaves elementary school carrying more than lessons and grades. He leaves with confidence, friendships, beautiful memories, and the knowledge that he was supported by teachers who genuinely cared.
Now high school is just around the corner.
And if I'm being honest, I'm excited and scared at the same time. Excited to see all the amazing things ahead of you, and scared because time seems to be moving way too fast. But if there's one thing you've shown us, it's that you can do hard things.
So go chase your dreams, Ethan. Be kind. Be respectful. Keep helping others. Stay true to yourself.
We are so proud of the young man you are becoming, and I know you are going to do great things.
Congratulations, Ethan. ❤️
