Fair question. 😂

I’m involved in an online business that uses affiliate and attraction marketing.

Basically, I share what I’m doing, why I started, what I’m learning and what this kind of business can potentially offer.

I’m not out there trying to convince people to buy something.

I’m not cold messaging random people.

And I’m definitely not asking my friends and family to join me.

I simply put the information out there and let the right people find me.

I often get asked, what is this online business I keep talking about?

Well, it’s a lot simpler than people think.

It’s a way to build something of my own, from home, around the life I already have.

There’s no inventory.
There’s no cold calling.
There’s no bugging friends and family.
And you don’t need previous experience.

But you do get all the training, the tools, the website and the support — and you learn as you go.

For me, it’s about creating more choices for my future and having something I can do alongside my 9–5.

Last night, the hubby and I went to the little town next to us for their wing night.

Today, I’m baking a 9x13 dessert and heading over to our own town’s Turkey Supper to help out.

And honestly…it’s the best

Living in a small rural community, we don’t have endless choices. We don’t have restaurants and events around every corner.

We have our little towns. ❤️

And if we want to keep them going, we have to support them.

Go for the wings.
Have the turkey dinner.
Buy something from the local store.
Go to the community event.
Volunteer when you can.

Because if we don’t support these little places, eventually they won’t be there.

And then that wing night, turkey supper or Friday night out might mean driving an hour or more just to find one.

So today, I’m happy to bake a dessert, roll up my sleeves and help out.

Because to me, that’s what community is all about.

Showing up.
Pitching in.
Supporting each other.

And keeping our little towns alive.

October already… seriously?! 🍂

It’s hard to believe that in just over 2 months, Christmas will be here and we’ll be wrapping up another year.

Time seems to be flying by faster and faster, and honestly, sometimes that scares me a little.

There’s so much I still want to do. So much I want to see. Places I want to go and things I want to experience.

But sometimes life can feel like Groundhog Day… work, home, repeat. And I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.

A few years ago, I decided to take a chance and start preparing for a future with more options.

I don’t want to be stuck working my 9–5 forever. I enjoy my job, but I also want the freedom to decide when I’m ready to retire and what that next chapter looks like.

My online business is something I’m building alongside my regular job, and for me, it’s about creating choices for the future.

If you’ve been thinking about starting something of your own, don’t keep saying “maybe next year.”

Trust me… I sometimes wish I had started sooner. 😊

Time is going to pass anyway. Might as well start building something for the future while it does.

🎃 One Aisle… Two Holidays 🎄

I went shopping on my day off today,
Just minding my business, strolling away…

Then I turned down the aisle and what did I see?
Halloween on one side…
Christmas on the other ! 😂

Pumpkins and witches, ghosts flying high,
While Christmas trees sparkled right by.

One month to Halloween, three months to go,
And apparently Christmas is ready to show! 🎃🎄

Slow down, stores… I’m not quite prepared!
I’m still wondering where the summer disappeared! 😂

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately…

What would I do if my regular paycheque suddenly wasn’t there?

At my age, living out here in the country where jobs can be few and far between, that’s something that could be pretty scary.

I’m sure there are lots of people out there who have had that thought too.

Even if you could find another job, starting over can feel pretty overwhelming. And not everyone is in a position where they can just sit back and do nothing.

It wasn’t that long ago that I found myself laid off from yet another job and relying on my husband. Then both of us had major health issues, and neither of us could work.

Our savings were dwindling fast.

What were we going to do?

Thankfully, I was able to find another job. Around the same time, I stumbled across an online business that I could work on from home, in my spare time.

I wasn’t looking to quit my job. I just wanted something I could build on the side… something that could give me another option for the future.

And honestly, I liked being able to learn something new from the comfort of my own home.

Even after a full day at work, 30 minutes here and there all counted.

The training is video-based, simple to follow, and I can go back and watch it again whenever I need to. There’s no race to get started. You can learn at your own pace and fit it around your life.

For me, it’s about having another option and building something for the future.

Sometimes you just have to kick back, put your feet up and do absolutely NOTHING! 😂

I feel like I’ve been burning the candle at both ends lately, so I’ve decided that tonight I’m going to relax, put my feet up and do nothing.

Yep… nothing.

Well… that is the plan anyway. 😂

First I have to get through my day here at work.

Then I’ll go home, make dinner, check my messages, create a post for my online business, probably tidy up a few things…

And THEN maybe I’ll sit down and watch a movie with my husband.

So technically, I’ll be doing nothing…😂😂

But honestly, sometimes a quiet evening at home, feet up, comfy clothes and a movie is exactly what I need.

Now… where is the darn remote? 😜
