📍 Grande Cache All-Season Resort Area Information Session

Greenview and the Government of Alberta invite residents, businesses and community members to a drop-in information session to learn more about a proposed All-Season Resort Area designation near Grande Cache.

📅 September 10, 2026
⏰ 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
📍 Grande Cache Legion (2400 Pine Plaza, Grande Cache, AB)

Greenview is exploring the opportunity to have suitable Crown land near Grande Cache considered by the Province for designation as an All-Season Resort Area.

What does designation mean?
An All-Season Resort Area is Crown land identified by the Province as a location where a year-round resort could potentially be considered. Designation does not approve a resort or authorize construction.

This initiative is still in its early stages. There is currently no designated resort area near Grande Cache, no selected developer and no development applications.

Greenview will also introduce the newly established Grande Cache All-Season Resort Advisory Committee, which will provide local perspectives and advice as discussions move forward. Members of the local business, tourism and workforce development communities are welcome to apply for positions on the committee. Application information will be available at the open house.

Drop in to learn about:
• What an All-Season Resort Area is and what it could mean for Grande Cache
• How an area is evaluated for potential designation
• The roles of Greenview and the Government of Alberta
• How local priorities and perspectives will be represented
• Potential tourism and recreation opportunities
• How you can ask questions and provide feedback

Come learn more about the process, ask questions and share what matters to you and your community.

🐾 Responsible Pet Ownership Starts With All of Us

Whether you live in a Greenview hamlet, on an acreage or on a rural property, being a responsible pet owner means keeping your animals safe and respecting your neighbours, their property, livestock and other animals.

Simple steps make a difference:
🐕 Keep your pets under control and prevent them from roaming onto neighbouring properties.
🔇 Take steps to prevent excessive barking and other disruptive behaviour.
💩 Clean up after your pets.
🏡 Keep pets off other people’s property unless you have permission.
🐾 Make sure your animals do not chase, bite or act aggressively toward people, pets or livestock.

Within Greenview hamlets, these responsibilities are also addressed and enforced through Greenview’s Animal Control Bylaw No. 25-991. While the bylaw applies specifically within hamlet boundaries, responsible pet ownership matters in every community and rural area across Greenview.

Keeping animals properly controlled helps protect your pet, your neighbours and the animals around you.

Learn more about Greenview’s Animal Control Bylaw on our website athttps://mdgreenview.ab.ca/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Bylaw-25-991-Animal-Control.pdf, or contact a Greenview Community Peace Officer if you have questions.
