What an incredible weekend setting up and attending the Grande Gathering for the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre. This event hits home for me being a proud Metis woman.

I found myself tearing up throughout the whole night. Many tears of Pride. Proud that my older sis was the live artist for this years event and her beadwork was being celebrated and honoured (shoutout to ). Proud of the Indigenous Culture being celebrated and not being made fun of. Proud of being in a room filled with powerhouse Indigenous Women and Men. And proud to be able to support an organization that truly does so much for our Community from Babies best Start to their Community Kitchen- where ANYONE can get a meal.

Right now, there are 7 children in Grande Prairie and 30+ children across the Peace Region waiting for their wishes to come true.

Every wish brings hope, strength, and joy to kids facing critical illnesses, and our Spring Fling Family Ball is helping make those wishes possible.

In Canada, a child is diagnosed with a critical illness every two hours, which is why community support is so important.
