We are looking for a skilled administrative assistant, organizer, and problem solver to support our Architectural and Construction Management offices. An individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy and order would be the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited too:

- Handle general office tasks and administrative duties.
- Office filling, organizing.
- Manage phone calls and correspondence.
- Organizing travel, accommodations, related details, and confirmations.
- Order office supplies and maintain inventory.

We're hiring !

We are seeking a construction site superintendent/construction manager for new building construction of a 18,000 square foot Culture and Learning Facility for Naicatchewenin First Nation located in Northwest Bay Ontario. The building is a one storey building slab on grade, wood construction with some steel framing. This is a contract position for the duration of the project. Schedule is expected to be roughly 14 months however may vary. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all trades and effectively managing daily activities, maintaining quality assurance and site safety. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with design professionals, consultants and client while successfully directing the sub-contractors and other construction related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule, and budget. Candidate must be professional, and a personable leader committed to the overall objective, of the company, and self-development within the company. Minimum Qualifications
• Technologist diploma, engineering degree or site supervisory experience in construction, architectural or engineering field.
• Proficient computer skills.
• AutoCAD experience.
• Microsoft project experience.
• Microsoft office experience (Word/Excel).
• Posses and maintains current driver’s license and has their own vehicle.
• Understanding of rules, regulations, policies and procedures that apply to general construction.
• Believes in, follows and enforces health and safety applicable within the company policy and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Has or can obtain site supervision, safety, first aid and fall arrest accreditation.
• Possess and demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Good verbal interpersonal communication skills coupled with strong technical aptitude with the ability to tackle a task logically and perseverance to see through all obstacles.
• Must be prepared to work under pressure and regard their work as a challenge.
• Must have 5 years’ experience in construction.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Has direct supervisory responsibility and quality assurance over all trade contractors and construction personnel on site
• Respond to all requests from trade contractor and suppliers which need assistance in a timely manner.
• Contact, schedule and coordinate all trade contractors, suppliers, utilities, consultants, testing agencies and local building authorities as required.
• Assures compliance of all trade contractors and suppliers with contract documents and Ontario Building Code
• Assures compliance of all trade contractors and suppliers of all company safety policies and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Hold and record regular site safety meetings.
• Maintain and enforce a safe and clean job site.
• Verify workmanship and installation of sub-trades and suppliers as work is being performed.
• Verify and forward site dimensions, pictures etc as required to head office.
• Be responsible for maintaining daily log electronically and emailed back to office each day.
• Be responsible for completing weekly work flow documents to main office.
• Verify all materials arriving on site meet contract documents and are not damaged before they are incorrectly used on site.
• Verify and track monthly percentage complete for all trade contractors and suppliers as well as prepare monthly draw submission to main office.
• Prepare, update and track schedule daily on Microsoft Project and email back to main office.
• Inform the main office of any errors, discrepancies, omissions and possible site solutions arising in contract documents and/or site conditions.
• Raise and discuss relevant issues with main office and job site meetings.
• Chair, record and issue job site meeting minutes.
• Maintain control and responsibility for security and operation of the company’s directly owned or rented equipment on site.
• Control, monitor and report all labour, material and equipment expenses. Submit monthly cost summaries.
• Ensure As-Built drawings are prepared on an ongoing basis by all trades during construction period on site.
• Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists on an ongoing basis for all trades and suppliers during the construction period.
• Maintain a neat and tidy site office and meeting room.

The studio in our firm is a dynamic open environment that offers mentorship and support. You will work directly with Architects, Engineers and technologists as part of an integrated multidisciplinary project team at all stages, from concept design to completion. Your role will include leadership + mentoring of junior staff.

The successful candidate will have a Master’s of Architecture from an accredited University. They require experience in Revit and Microsoft and have strong technical skills related directly to building construction, materials, and methods of construction.
