24 Hours with KuBank: An Example of Maximizing Solar Self-Consumption

What does a typical day look like for a C&I battery energy storage system?
From sunrise to nightfall, KuBank works behind the scenes to help businesses maximize solar self-consumption, reduce energy costs, and improve energy resilience.

Morning: As solar generation ramps up, on-site renewable energy is first used to power facility operations, reducing dependence on grid electricity.

Midday: When PV production exceeds facility demand, KuBank stores surplus solar energy for use later in the day, increasing the value of on-site renewable generation.

Smart Energy Management: Throughout the day, KuBank continuously monitors energy production and consumption, automatically optimizing when energy is stored, used, or discharged to maximize solar utilization.

Evening: As solar production declines and facility demand continues, KuBank discharges stored energy to support operations and reduce reliance on grid electricity.

Night Operation: Stored solar energy continues to power loads after sunset, extending the benefits of renewable energy well beyond daylight hours.

The Result: By intelligently managing energy throughout the day, KuBank helps businesses increase solar self-consumption, lower electricity costs, and improve energy resilience while making the most of every kilowatt-hour generated on site.

Manufacturing Facilities: Unlocking More Value with PV + Storage

Following our look at Warehouses & Logistics Centres, we continue our Industry Series with another key commercial and industrial segment: Manufacturing Facilities.

Rising electricity costs, increasing demand charges, and the growing need for operational efficiency are forcing manufacturers to rethink how energy is managed across their facilities.

Battery energy storage is becoming an increasingly important tool to reduce costs, improve flexibility, and maximise the value of on-site solar generation.

From metal processing and automotive production to food manufacturing, packaging, and consumer goods, manufacturers are under constant pressure to maintain productivity, improve competitiveness, and support sustainability goals.

Many facilities operate energy-intensive processes across multiple shifts, creating significant and often variable electricity demand profiles throughout the day.

Rather than serving a single purpose, battery energy storage systems can unlock multiple value streams from a single asset while supporting more efficient, flexible, and cost-effective operations.

Typical PV + Storage value streams include:

☀️ Maximise Solar Value
Solar Self-Consumption Optimisation

⚡ Lower Demand Charges
Peak Shaving

🔄 Reduce Energy Costs
Load Shifting & Tariff Optimisation

🏭 Improve Operational Efficiency
Load Management & Energy Optimisation

🛡️ Support Production Continuity
Energy Resilience

KuBank, Canadian Solar's C&I Battery Energy Storage System, enables manufacturers to optimise energy use, improve operational flexibility, and maximise the value of their PV investment.

✓ Modular and scalable architecture
✓ Intelligent energy management
✓ Advanced safety concept
✓ Liquid cooling and heating technology
✓ Designed for diverse C&I applications

For many manufacturing facilities, energy storage is no longer simply about storing electricity. It is about unlocking multiple value streams from a single system while reducing energy costs, increasing operational flexibility, maximising the value of on-site PV generation, and supporting reliable production processes.

Stay tuned as we continue our Industry Series and explore how PV + Storage creates value across additional commercial and industrial sectors.

With optimal compatibility and streamlined installation, Canadian Solar provides solar modules, inverters, and battery energy storage systems. Warehouses & Logistics Centres: Unlocking More Value with PV + Storage

Commercial and industrial facilities often face similar energy challenges, but the way energy is consumed and managed can vary significantly from one industry to another.

As part of our new Industry Series, we explore how battery energy storage can support different sectors and help unlock additional value from PV investments.

Today, we start with Warehouses & Logistics Centres.
Warehousing and logistics operations are evolving rapidly. Electric forklifts are charging. Refrigeration systems are running. Trucks are arriving and departing. Warehouse lighting, automation systems, and increasingly EV charging infrastructure are operating throughout the day.
For logistics operators, energy is more than a utility. It is a critical part of keeping goods moving, maintaining operational efficiency, and ensuring reliable day-to-day operations.
At the same time, rising electricity costs, demand charges, and growing electrification are increasing the need for smarter energy management strategies.
Rather than serving a single purpose, battery energy storage systems can unlock multiple value streams from a single asset, helping logistics facilities improve efficiency, flexibility, and energy cost management.

Typical PV + Storage value streams include:
☀️ Maximise Solar Value
Solar Self-Consumption Optimisation

⚡ Lower Demand Charges
Peak Shaving

🔄 Reduce Energy Costs
Load Shifting & Tariff Optimisation

🔌 Support Fleet Electrification
EV Charging Optimisation

🛡️ Improve Business Continuity
Energy Resilience

KuBank,Canadian Solar's C&I Battery Energy Storage System, enables warehouse and logistics operators to optimise energy use, improve operational flexibility, and maximise the value of their PV investment.

✓ Modular and scalable architecture
✓ Intelligent energy management
✓ Advanced safety concept
✓ Liquid cooling and heating technology
✓ Designed for diverse C&I applications

Because for many logistics facilities, energy storage is no longer just about storing electricity. It is about unlocking multiple value streams from a single system while improving efficiency, reducing costs, increasing flexibility, and supporting future energy needs.

Stay tuned as we continue our Industry Series and explore how PV + Storage creates value across other commercial and industrial sectors.
