The Downtown Infrastructure Renewal Program is in full swing on Wyndham Street, and we want to share the resources available for navigating Downtown during construction.
Note - these are the City of Guelph’s Resources (not ours). We are compiling and sharing so you can find them all in one spot ⭐️
📌 Your #1 RESOURCE: Diggable Downlow 📌
It’s the City’s dedicated page for everything Wyndham Street construction. Updated every Monday morning with what’s happening that week, what’s coming, and where things stand. If you have one tab open, make it that one. https://haveyoursay.guelph.ca/en/projects/diggable-downlow
🗺️ The detour map and Business Delivery Access Plan are both on Diggable Downlow.
🅿️ Free 2-hour parking is available at the Macdonell Lot to make up for the spots lost on Wyndham during construction.
🚌 Getting picked up or dropped off at Guelph Central Station? Access GCS via the detour route on Farquhar Street. This is in place until construction wraps in that section, expected around end of July.
📋 The City has put together a Construction Mitigation Plan to reduce the impact of construction on businesses, residents, and visitors. It covers communication and updates, direct construction support, a business support plan, and how construction is being paced and phased.https://guelph.ca/wp-content/uploads/DTIRP_ConstructionMitigationPlan_FINAL-w-Logos.pdf
☕ The City hosts a Construction Café on the third Thursday of every month at a rotating Downtown spot. Free coffee, project team on site to answer your questions. Next one is June 18, 9am-11am at Wimpy’s Diner.
🏢 There’s also a Downtown Construction Office set up at 42 Wyndham St N. A Downtown Ambassador is onsite during office hours to help businesses and the public with day-to-day questions, provide updates, and act quickly when concerns come up. Drop in Tuesdays 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and Thursdays 1-3 p.m., or email [email protected] anytime.
Find all the details and resources on the ’s Diggable Downlow web page.
Downtown is open, accessible, and we appreciate the bit of detour or extra effort it takes to visit some of your favourite businesses right now. From all of us Downtown Guelph, thank you 🫶
