It’s black salt day!!

We’ve been selling out of black salt much more quickly then we normally do. Demand is high for protection.
Our black salt is made with charcoal from gratitude fires. Wild forage plants like juniper and cultivated plants like hyssop and rosemary. Ground up egg shells, crushed with intention.
Black salt is a perfect base for protection magic, for sprinkling at your front door or around your property.
This is one of our core products at three ferns apothecary that I will continue to make by hand to share with all of us practitioners for years to come.

Protection Ritual Tin

These little ritual tins are meant to have everything you need a preform a protection spell.

I’ve been wanting to go to Lake superior for quite some time now. Finally this summer I went. I travelled all the way up to Wawa and spent time with the beautiful fireweed. I met bog Myrtle near some waterfalls in Wawa and finally located Labrador tea and sweet fern in Sudbury. It was such a joy to spend time in a completely different area that looks so very different than home. I already miss all the rocks jetting out along the highways and the reindeer lichen on the big smooth boulders on the side of the road.
I was able to forage enough sweet fern and labrador tea to share a limited amount.

Tie a bundle with me!

I make all of the smoke bundles by hand. I harvest the plants, let them dry for a day or two (so they don’t mould) spend time cleaning them up so that they dry nicely and keep their shape, I carefully shape them and check that they are even and wrap them.

It’s a long process, but I will never offer pre made smoke bundles. It just doesn’t feel right for the magic Three Ferns offers.

Friends did you know that I have product at the Phoenix Emporium in Hamilton? Well I do and I just did a restock!!

It’s a really lovely store with witchy goods as well as beautiful jewelry, candles, and gift items.

I’m carrying my spell herbs, ritual oils, mugwort smoke bundles and my new ritual tins. There are a few vintage altar items in stock as well.

If you have visited my booth you will have noticed that I carry a selection of skeleton keys. They hold a special place in my heart, like many things that a carry does. But these keys many things to many people. My mom collected skeleton keys when I was growing up and when she passed away they became mine. So, I display them at my altar as a reminder of her and all of the doors can still be opened.
Skeleton keys can simply be used for opening doors or locking doors. They can be used when working with some deities; like Hekate, the keeper of boundaries, the underworld and liminal spaces. Keys can also be used as a sign of protection.
