Designing for Wellness Beyond the Treatment Room ✨

When designing this physiotherapy clinic, our goal was simple: create a space that felt welcoming, calming, and restorative—not clinical.

By incorporating a palette of neutral tones, natural textures, and carefully selected brand colours, we created an environment that feels warm, inviting, and energizing for both patients and practitioners.

But great design goes beyond aesthetics.

The ceiling baffles are a perfect example of form meeting function. While they add visual interest and architectural character to the space, they also play an important acoustic role by absorbing sound within the open fitness area. This helps reduce noise transfer into treatment rooms, creating a calmer environment and preventing unnecessary sensory stimulation for patients.

Thoughtful design considers every detail—from how a space looks to how it feels and functions.

Heave-ho!

Lifting a hot tub 15 storeys into the air is no small feat. It takes careful planning, precise coordination, and a dedicated team working together to ensure everything goes smoothly and safely.

From securing permits and coordinating road closures to managing site logistics, communicating with neighbouring tenants, and ensuring safety protocols are followed, every detail matters.

A huge shoutout to our friends at S.G Cunningham for executing this complex lift exceptionally well. Their expertise, professionalism, and attention to detail made for a seamless operation from start to finish.

A warm welcome for those in need.

Not all spaces maintain the same functionality as they had originally intended. After 20 years, this healthcare lobby aims to change that. We are excited to see this high-volume space evolve into a more welcoming and accessible environment for all users.

Direct and indirect wayfinding through signage and the visual movement of the floor and suspended baffles help guide visitors effortlessly to their destination, creating a seamless flow. A dedicated welcome desk further enhances the experience, ensuring everyone feels supported from the moment they arrive.

Together, these elements create an intuitive and inviting space that prioritizes both comfort and ease of use.

✨ Big impact with minimal changes ✨

This IT business found a stunning standalone building with a raw, stripped-down architectural feel—an incredible foundation to work from.

Rather than overdesigning the space, we focused on enhancing what was already there. Thoughtful updates to the finishes, including fresh paint on the minimal drywall and the addition of carpet in key areas for sound absorption, helped bring both function and personality into the space.

Sometimes it’s not about doing more—it’s about doing the right things.

Creating a space that supports healing starts with how it makes you feel.

For this physio clinic, we moved away from a traditional clinical look and focused on designing an environment where clients feel comfortable, at ease, and supported from the moment they walk in.

Through the use of warm, confident finishes—with just the right pop of colour—we created an inviting, grounded space that sets the tone for treatment, recovery, and overall well-being.

Stepping into timeless elegance at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac ✨

There’s something truly special about a space that blends history, architecture, and design so seamlessly. From its iconic silhouette overlooking Old Québec to the rich interiors filled with character and detail, every corner tells a story.

As a designer, it’s inspiring to see how classic elements—ornate detailing, layered textures, and thoughtful lighting—come together to create a space that feels both grand and inviting.

A beautiful reminder that great design stands the test of time.

Layering countertop materials—such as butcher block and natural stone—adds warmth and a relaxed, inviting quality to a space.

While butcher block does require regular maintenance, we love incorporating it for its functionality. It allows for easy food prep, with the convenience of cutting directly on the surface, while also developing a beautiful, lived-in character over time.

In this project, it was especially important to integrate the custom butcher block island top the homeowner crafted himself, creating a meaningful focal point within the new kitchen.
