It was bittersweet as we spent our last weekend at the lake for this season. It was a gorgeous sunny Saturday and we walked and felt such gratitude for all that we have.

One of those things is my online business that I’m building…quietly, in the background. Helping me with making our summers at the lake achievable. Helping with gas and groceries. Helping me help other women start their own business so they can create their own freedom.

And Garf already has the countdown started… 223 more days until we get to go back for another season.🥰🤗

When I first started looking at this business, I was skeptical too.

I wasn’t looking to become some kind of social media expert, and I definitely wasn’t interested in chasing friends and family or trying to sell products to people.

I was 59, working full-time, and honestly just starting to think more seriously about what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like.

I’ve worked for most of my life. I’m still capable of working—but I don’t necessarily want my whole week dictated by someone else’s schedule anymore.

I wanted more flexibility. More choices. More time for the people and things I enjoy.

And before I put my time or money into anything, I needed to understand what I was getting into. I wanted to know there was training, support and an actual system behind it—not just somebody telling me, “Trust me, it works.”

I wanted to understand how it worked, what was involved, and whether an ordinary person like me could actually learn how to do it.

That’s one of the things that appealed to me about this business.

I didn’t need sales experience. I didn’t need to stock inventory. I didn’t have monthly quotas. And I wasn’t expected to make a list of everyone I knew and start messaging them.

Instead, I was given a website, step-by-step training, mentorship, coaching and an automated marketing system that can keep working even when I’m at my regular job—or enjoying one of my Fridays off. 😊

Seven months later, I’m still learning and building. I’m not going to pretend everything happens overnight, because it doesn’t.

But I’m really glad I started.

And if you’re a woman somewhere around my stage of life—still working, still capable, but thinking there has to be another way to create a little more freedom in my life—I understand exactly where you’re coming from.

Maybe you’re skeptical.
Maybe you’ve been watching quietly.
Maybe you’re simply curious.

That’s okay.

Time. 🕰️
So valuable. I treasure my time these days.

On my Friday off from my full-time job yesterday, I made some cookies as a homemade “thank you” for a couple of neighbours who helped us out this past week.

A thank you from my heart. This is my love language. 🩷

And while I was in the kitchen baking, my online business was still working away in the background. That’s one of the things I really appreciate about building something that doesn’t require me to be “on” every minute of the day.

Grateful for my every-other-Friday off… and working toward having more days like this. 🥰

Just got off a fantastic Zoom with my mentor and another business owner. We shared ideas, talked about what’s working, supported each other and all came away with something useful. 😊

Seven months in, I’m really glad I took a chance on something new. I’m starting to see my future differently than I once imagined.🩷

I have a love/hate relationship with these shorter days. The minute it gets dark, my body is basically saying, “Well… that’s enough for today.” 🛏️

And honestly, I’m usually exhausted enough that climbing into bed sounds AMAZING.

But at the same time… why does it suddenly feel like there are about 4 usable hours in a day?! 😩 I still have things I wanna do!

Anyone else feel like their internal clock is completely controlled by daylight? 😂
