Ben took one of our prototypes to Newfoundland in July 2021. Him and his family were mostly off-grid cruising since there are limited marinas on the island, therefore solar power was important!
He saw a consistent 4.5A boost from our 90W prototype and provided valuable feedback. He is planning to sail to Bermuda this summer and may take our next prototype with him.

Last summer our first full-size alpha prototype was tested by our co-founder Simon Herbinger on his parent's sailboat in the adriatic sea! They cruised from Croatia to Greece on a 345 Beneteau First.

The sailboat already had 110W of rigid panels on the davits. Our 90W prototype was installed on the dodger and bimini and worked well! Producing much-needed extra electrical power under the Mediterranean sun.

Simon collected power, temperature and sunlight intensity data from our prototype and the competition (110W rigid panel) with custom-made Raspberry Pi powered Data Collection Units. The data was later processed and analyzed, giving us valuable technical insight.

The prototype got hot! This is something we think we have solved with our new, and improved, prototypes currently being developed.

We are pleased to announce that we are joint first place winners for South West in this years Spark Nova Scotia program! We'll be receiving $50,000 from the program which we will be using to dive into prototyping and developing our market strategy. We've been working hard these past few months in Dalhousie's Ready2Launch program and have made large developments as a business. We thank all who have supported us and provided feedback in the form of surveys and interviews so far. One of these developments is a pivot to developing our product for the cruising sailor market. We still plan to expand our business to all outdoor enthusiasts down the line, so stay tuned for developments on that in the future.
