We've received lots of calls lately about the expired Vehicle Identifiers for the National Parks and Historic Sites in Nova Scotia. Don't worry - your passes will still be accepted across the province this summer!
Supply issues have caused a delay in the reprint but our partnership with Parks Canada is still strong, and the current passes will be recognized.

The Annapolis Sand Barrens is an amazing sandy ecosystem found in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. These areas are low in nutrients, slightly acidic, and dry which makes them a difficult spot to survive for most wildlife. But these same conditions are perfect for certain rare and unique species, including Rock Rose, Common Nighthawks, Eastern-wood Pewees, Pine Barren Golden-Heather and Wood Turtles! This summer, thanks to the support from TD Friends of the Environment Foundation we are working to connect you with some of Nova Scotia’s most amazing natural ecosystems, including the Annapolis Sand Barrens, for our Getting into Nature Walking Series.

For this walk we are working with the Clean Annapolis River Project (CARP) to explore the Annapolis Sand Barrens on July 24 at 11 am. This free, moderate, 2-hour hike will feature guest expert Ian Manning, Instructor at Nova Scotia Community College, for an outdoor adventure focused on exploring the unique plants and animals within the barrens.

Everyone is welcome to attend our events, including families, but please be mindful of the moderate challenge this hike can pose.

Registration for our walk is required at: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/getting-into-nature-annapolis-valley-sand-barrens-tickets-383379557577

If you have any questions, please email [email protected].

Thank you to Environment and Climate Change Canada as well as TD FEF for making our Getting into Nature Series possible.

I have just been nudged that I need to fill up on gas. A light and a chime help me make sure I don’t run out. Another tells me it is time for an oil change.

Nudges are subtle prods to take action. Can you think of some others in your vehicle? There are lots.
