If employees can’t see a future with you… they’ll find one somewhere else.

It’s one of the most common themes we hear in exit conversations and engagement work. Not always because growth didn’t exist, but because it wasn’t visible, understood, or talked about.

If the path forward feels unclear or unknown, your top performers will be the first to create a path elsewhere.

Creating clarity around growth doesn’t require a full org redesign or making promises. It starts with better conversations, knowing your employees' goals, and intentional development.

This week is Mental Health Week, and it is a good reminder that work isn't separate from mental health; it's a major driver of it.

For many people, work shapes identity, purpose, stress levels, relationships, and overall well-being more than we fully realize.

From an employer's perspective, mental health isn't influenced by just one thing. It's the result of the entire employee experience, including
👥 Leadership quality and support
💼 Workload, expectations, and clarity
👯‍♀️ Team dynamics and psychological safety
🏆️ Recognition and feedback
📈 Opportunities for growth and development
😦 Change and uncertainty

We've explored many of these themes from the employer perspective in our blogs, including topics like:

Mental health at work doesn’t come from one initiative or policy. It’s built through everyday decisions, leadership behaviours, and how work is designed.

Most employees decide if they want to stay at a company long before they ever say it out loud.

Our latest blog dives into the unspoken side of onboarding. How manager presence, communication, and early support shape confidence and psychological safety from day one.

Remote work isn’t one-size-fits-all, especially when you’re someone who gets energy from being around others.

In our newest blog, Rheannon shares a thoughtful and honest perspective on what happens when remote work meets an extrovert, the challenges, the unexpected benefits, and what organizations should be thinking about as flexible work continues to evolve.

Extroverts often thrive on connection and interaction, so working remotely can feel isolating without the right support in place. This blog explores how to better understand those experiences and create work environments where everyone can do their best work.

Whether you’re leading a team or navigating remote work yourself, this perspective is worth reading.

Last Friday, our team got together to celebrate some big milestones and take a well-earned pause to connect. We swapped our keyboards for paintbrushes for an afternoon of painting pottery at Thinking Ceramics, followed by a great meal at The Arms.

These moments matter. Taking time to step away from the day-to-day, reflect on what we’ve accomplished, and simply enjoy each other’s company is a big part of what keeps our team strong. We’re proud of the work we do and even more grateful for the people we get to do it with.
