Our team members Rebekah and Joseph have been presenting and testing findings to community stakeholders the last couple of days as part of the Tourism Infrastructure and Services Gaps Analysis for the Valley REN.

Thanks to everyone who came out and contributed their perspectives! We learned a lot and had a great time connecting with operators, municipal leaders, and tourism stakeholders.

We’re thrilled to announce that Amy MacKenzie was recently promoted to Managing Associate Partner at 21FSP Advisory.

Amy joined us as Associate Partner in 2024, and has been an incredible asset to the team ever since. She is a project manager, skilled strategist, and client champion who has a gift for managing multiple moving parts without losing sight of the bigger picture. Amy has led complex projects in a range of sectors, from offshore wind to resource development to infrastructure strategies, and more.

As the firm has grown, Amy has become known for leadership in process improvements and staff management. She began her consulting journey with Ron and Tom 7 years ago, and we’re proud to see her step into this role.

21FSP was in Toronto this week participating in the Evergreen Conference. The conference was focused on thinking differently about how public spaces, infrastructure and housing are developed to create more connected and sustainable societies. A fitting space for projects to be in the spotlight with Executive Director Pam Glode Desroches speaking on a panel. Our team was also honoured to spend time with Elder Dr Albert D. Marshall, Elder Debbie Eisan, and the MNFC crew. Thanks to Jen Angel and the Evergreen staff for a wonderful few days.

21FSP team members Tom, Amy, and Emma attended “A Conversation on Canada’s Economy and Security with Prime Minister Mark Carney” this morning in Halifax, organized by . 🙌

It was a wonderful opportunity to hear about the Prime Minister’s priorities for the region, including a strong interest in offshore wind in Nova Scotia, our strategic position for trade and defence investments, and investments in housing through Build Canada Homes among other topics.

We’re excited to be working with the Lunenburg Academy Foundation on creating a new Strategic Plan. Today we had a great planning session and toured through the iconic building - including their heritage interpretive classroom. We look forward to continuing on with this collaborative process, planning for the Foundation’s long-term sustainability to fulfill their mission: the care, preservation, and restoration of this National Historic Site.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to attend Marine Renewables Canada’s Energy Sector Vision 2050 Launch in Ottawa! MRC’s vision positions marine renewable energy as a vital part of Canada’s transition to clean energy, part of which is establishing an offshore wind market.

Our work in offshore wind has taken shape through major research reports, including the forthcoming release of a Socioeconomic Impact Study of Offshore Wind in Nova Scotia for Net Zero Atlantic, produced in collaboration with BVG Associates.

We congratulate MRC for the launch of Vision 2050 and are thrilled to be collectively working toward a Canada that is powered by renewable energy.

With the Valley REN, we’re excited to be launching a survey to learn about perspectives from tourism operators, local businesses, residents, and visitors to better understand what is working well, where challenges exist, and where there are opportunities to strengthen tourism services and infrastructure across the region.
