Chamber Hosts 2026 Budget Discussion
This morning, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce welcomed Wayne Long, Secretary of State for the Canada Revenue Agency and Financial Institutions, for a federal pre-budget roundtable focused on the priorities of Hamilton’s business community.
Business leaders shared perspectives on the challenges impacting their organizations, workforce and our broader economy, and where federal action can help position Hamilton for continued growth.
Key themes included business competitiveness and the corporate tax burden, community safety and downtown vibrancy, critical infrastructure and trade-enabling investment, attainable housing, childcare, and attracting and retaining talent.
The discussion also reinforced the importance of creating the conditions for businesses to invest, grow and create jobs, while ensuring Hamilton remains an affordable and attractive place for people and families to build their futures.
Thank you to Secretary of State Long and our members for a productive discussion. The Chamber will continue advocating to ensure Hamilton’s business priorities are reflected in Budget 2026 and heard in Ottawa.
