Baby Dream Coach Helping families get the sleep they need in a gentle and supportive way ❤️

Truth is, your baby's brain knows the difference between naptime and bedtime. 🤯

So you can choose to sleep train at night while still doing all of the things for naps, for example.

This helps fill the day sleep tank, which promotes better night sleep. This sometimes makes training easier since your baby isn't overtired while trying to learn something new.

This can also help baby (and parents) ease into new routines and independent sleep, making it even more gentle.

Did you know the 9 traits and where your baby fits in them? 🤔 (some might be more obvious than others).

Temperament affects everything, especially sleep! It's important to know your child and their reactions to different environments. 😴

Applying what you know about your child with my evidence based sleep methods is the best way to "sleep train."

That's why I always say the parents are the child's expert and I'll bring the sleep expertise. When we work together, we come up with a fail-proof plan to get everyone the sleep they need. ✊🏼

There I was, 4 days PP, almost dawn, and I'd barely closed my eyes in days..

I'm opening my heart to share a chapter of my journey – a journey through loss, lockdowns, and the power of postpartum healing.

I'm the kind of woman who's used to navigating a male-dominated world, ticking off career milestones, and embracing the 'independent, type-A, go-getter' label.

But life had other plans for me in motherhood:

A pregnancy loss that shook my world, followed by welcoming a little one amidst a global pandemic, miles away from the comforting arms of family.

As a determined, planning-ahead mom, lockdowns crushed my birthing wishes, turning what should've been a sacred experience into a challenging and isolated journey.

Labor and birth didn't go as planned, and the postpartum period? A rollercoaster of isolation, anxiety, and relentless sleep deprivation. It felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders.

The Turning Point: In the depths of postpartum heaviness, I decided to seek help.

It was through understanding the intricacies of sleep that a glimmer of light appeared. Online communities became my village, offering empathy, understanding, and shared experiences that bridged the physical distance.

Learning about sleep became my lifeline, not just for my little one but for me too. The PP isolation began to lift as I connected with moms facing similar struggles. Slowly, I crafted my own village – a blend of virtual support and local connections.

Becoming the Village: i realized I could be the village for others. With a heart fueled by empathy and a certification in gentle sleep coaching, I stepped into a new role – a guide for moms navigating the many sleep challenges.

If you're feeling the weight of postpartum struggles, know that you're not alone.

It's okay to seek help, to create your own village, and to emerge from the darkness. 💕

Energy is never lost or destroyed. (Read that again)

It's only transferred!

For the 10 people who will see this, my message is to just be kind.

With everything going on in the world, the gen0cide, the pain, the anger, the h@te.

The babies.. oh the countless babies... and whole families wiped... 💔😭

All that hate is being transferred. It is that butterfly effect or chaos theory (search it).

We are all feeling it. Whether you are letting yourself feel it or not.

I sure am 💔🇵🇸

So if you think you don't matter, you do. We all do. And more importantly, our energy matters.

Imagine if you spent a whole day putting out kindness. Some of us would affect the masses with our reach; some of us would affect a couple. Both are very important; it only takes 1 to get it started❤️

So when things feel uncontrollable, start with controlling your energy.

Always choose kindness.

it starts at the individual level. And we can all make a big impact.

One wing flap at a time.

Sincerely,
Lynn

A heartbroken mom trying to make sense of the world...

My Journey to Baby Dream Coach 💤🌙

👋 Hi, Bonjour and welcome!
I want to share a little piece of my journey with you.

When I was a baby, sleep was my nemesis. I didn't sleep through the night until school started. My poor mom would fall asleep on the floor beside my crib, holding my finger through the bars. If she dared take it back, I'd cry again.

My early years involved growing pains that brought tears, and my nights were filled with endless songs. I'd watch the world outside my window, and sleepwalking was an occasional adventure. Sleep wasn't my ally.

Eventually, I learned to sleep on my own, but not without a toll on my parents' sleep. Fast forward to my pregnancy, and I was determined to crack the sleep code for my little one.

I delved into books, researched, and stumbled upon the Gentle Sleep Coach training. A method that allowed sleep training with comfort and responsiveness. No closing doors and walking away.

I believe in this method so much that I didn't just learn it for my baby; I became a Gentle Sleep Coach myself.

And thus, Baby Dream Coach was born - an Indigenous, female-owned business to help parents like you get the sleep you deserve. "Because sleep makes everything better."

You're not alone in this journey. If you're craving better sleep for you and your little one, let's chat. Book a free consultation with Baby Dream Coach and let's embark on this sleep adventure together. 💖✨

When you know they're tired but there's no way they want to sleep!

They're overtired!

Overtired babies will be up often (like every hour or 2 a night - beyond the newborn phase).
They can sometimes also have split nights, not feed well, and cry a lot!

We all get overtired sometimes, and the same goes with babies. We just want to learn their cues and do our best to avoid it on a regular basis.

Follow for all things motherhood and sleep.

**World breastfeeding week** Repost with a twist. The things mothers go through and the added pressure to breastfeed often goes unsaid...
______

For me, breastfeeding has been the hardest thing in postpartum. Harder than no sleep (but barely), stitches, hemorrhoids, bleeding, loose skin, mood swings and baby blues. No one prepares you for breastfeeding.

I'm still grieving the fact that I'm not able to breastfeed my baby but it's been quite the journey and she's only 3.5 weeks old.

Surprisingly, within her first hour, she latched and my breasts were already leaking. I was so happy and thought it was the start of an "easy" breastfeeding journey.

I was wrong.

My milk took a little over 4 days to come in. And in the meantime, Geneviève was losing too much weight. So we started supplementing with formula through a feeding tube while I kept breastfeeding. We were thinking maybe a couple days, to get her weight back up and until I had enough milk to feed her.

Then on the night of my 5th day postpartum, I birthed a piece of placenta (roughly the size of a baseball) which had clearly been left over from the birth. This caused hormone issues as my body thought I was pregnant again and stopped my milk supply which had just come in. So the supplementing continued.

I started taking 18 pills a day (then 22) just to try and bring back my milk.
During all of this, my ni***es cracked, I had mastitis, I could feel my anxiety get a little worse, I felt off but thought it was just PP.

Turns out my liver was sick and my hyperthyroidism was back.

So 24 days postpartum, I was forced to stop breastfeeding due to my health and the fact that my body wasn't producing enough milk for my baby.

I'm slowly adjusting to our new reality and the breast engorgement and leaking is easing off. I'm sure in a day or two there will be no more evidence that I ever breastfed but I will hold onto those memories forever.
