Southwestern Ontario has been home to Canada's wine industry since Prohibition. It was here in 1980, on the sunny shores of Lake Erie, that three Italian bricklayers - Alfredo, Enzo, and Tiberio - first came to Canada and decided to ful
fill their dream of building a world-class winery. Working with bricks and mortar, they crafted their vision from the ground up. Their journey was filled with hardship, and none more serious than when their winemaking partners from Italy backed out. Rather than "throw in the trowel," they worked diligently and found winemaking experts who shared their determination to build Colio Estate Wines, putting the final brick into place to make their dream come true.
