🧡 EVERY CHILD MATTERS 🧡

Today, I remember and honour my mom, my great-grandmother, and all of my relatives and ancestors who were taken from their families and communities and forced to endure residential schools.

Some survived and carried those memories and hardships with them for the rest of their lives. Some never made it home.

Their stories, their strength, their pain, and their resilience are part of who we are today.

I honour the children who were taken, the families who waited for them, the survivors who carried what happened in silence, and the children whose lives were taken before they could return home.

**Every child mattered. Every child still matters. Every life mattered.**

We remember those who came before us.
We honour the survivors.
We remember those who never came home.
And we carry their memory forward for the generations to come.
