My granddad would sing this song to me when I was very small - until I was in my teens
He was tall, dark, strong and quiet
He was soft and gentle
When he wrapped his arms around me and held me tight, I felt safe
I remember his tattered cap, heavy steel thermos, and steel lunch bucket, dusty from the day - placed by the back door
He had just come home, a tired hard working steel worker
It had been raining and a bright full rainbow filled the sky
‘Grandad, Grandad, there it is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow’
He did not hesitate
Down the wet streets we walked, for miles it seemed - when you are only 4
That was what the beautiful man he was
It has been many years since he has passed
Oh, how I miss him
Throughout my life he was a beacon of strength, courage, wisdom and mostly lovingkindness

At the bottom of the ocean lies a truth to bring our darkness and light, our pain and joy together. Not to pretend we are OK. I am glad I loved him
He taught me to respect myself through pushing me away
I loved him with my body, my mind, my soul and my spirit
Like no other
Perhaps it was an illusion – seeing his soul
The perception of what he once was
What could he be
Despite his flaws I loved him in the depths of the ocean
Like a warm sunny day
Like the clouds floating in the sky
Like the breeze in my hair
He took my breath away
Despite the pain of ending
The agony of loss
The despair of knowing
I learned so much about me
The deeper you love the deeper the lesson
I’ve been alone most of my life
Yet in my aloneness
I grew through the pain of loving men that do not show up
I am accountable in holding back
I over give
To say my truth is it heard?
It is too much for many
My presence states I can manage well
Yet if I wish your presence, you are not there
I just believed
I chose to see the goodness despite the vacancy
I will always love you
Thank you for the man you have been
Not for what I had hoped for
I had hoped you could see my heart
I had hoped you could really see me
I have spent a lifetime learning my value

The Wounded Healer – Coming Out of the Shadows
True purpose, loyalty, integrity, wisdom, courage, faith, humility, honor, forgiveness, to and for our God, and ourselves. The journey per se can be excruciatingly painful and filled with unfathomable loss. Throughout my training a review of Carl Jung and the ‘shadow side’. The existential chasm into the depth of our darkness. Quietly individuals enter solitude, monastic silence to search the heart of the soul. Pain recedes into blissful yet torturous dying. And so, it was there that I met Him. On a hillside, cold rain, soaking my siwash sweater, drenching my hair. My gum boots glistened in the damp sunlight a knowing. Many years, many footsteps. Grateful to have breath, to feel the sun, to grow in grace, not bitterness. To watch the shadows, touch the mountain tops, to recognize the deep part of me that no one knows. Sacred softness. Welcomed prayerful silence, to make mistakes, unbridled beauty in walking alone, yet not alone. How pain transmuted brings tranquil freedom. ™

Relationships are worth re-considering. Current trends support a clear message that many relationships have an underbelly of toxic, narcissism, and self-diagnosis. What if we re-consider. In family, in marriage, in relationship, in business. The concept of re-writing the narrative. Is re-storing, re-building, re-conciliation – a concept beyond consideration? To re-novate history, to re-visit without judgement alternate perspectives, merging the truths for the greater good in the re-establishing of healthy, re-vised, re-newed, re-lationship. Developed to serve all parties individually, couplehood, family, and as a whole. The process can be painful, and lengthy. It burns through intellect, logic and the emotional tidal wave, counterintuitive, breaking down - cold and sharp yet re-establishes at its heart connections that surpass time and space. It is a choice every day to love. Letting go is the freedom to begin with purity. With radical authenticity that invites listening to the painful darkness, owning its challenge and re-sponsibility, it transforms the soul.
