Justin Rutledge started Secret Beach in 2024 around a simple idea: play the songs they love, for the people they love, in Prince Edward County.

The County supergroup is Rutledge, a JUNO Award winner, with Annelise Noronha, Jeremy Kelly, Ben Vandergaast, Kevin Howley and Alison Burke.

Their set moves from country classics to 90s favourites, with plenty of undersung gems in between. They close out our season on Friday, the last of six shows at the Bandstand this year.

There’s plenty of seating on a first come, first served basis, and you’re welcome to bring a lawn chair as well.

Bring a wagon, a dog, a friend. Kids are very welcome here, and a scarf gives them something to dance with.
RSVP in advance and we’ll have a complimentary tasting pour waiting for you at the entry. Walk-ins are always welcome, too.

Every bottle in the Farmers’ Series now carries the mark of the farm the fruit came from.

The label redesign goes deeper than a new look. Each grower has their own stamp and their own artwork, pulled from something true about their land and the people working it.

Redtail Vineyards has milkweed.
When the rows get weeded, it stays standing, the one plant monarchs will lay their eggs on and the only thing their caterpillars eat.
That’s how they farm, and that’s what’s on their label. It carries both County wines: the 2025 Farmers’ Series County Chardonnay and the 2025 Farmers’ Series County Pinot Noir.

Palatine Hills has a flock of waterfowl, for the love of the outdoors shared between their owners and our winemaker Jonas Newman. It’s on the 2025 Farmers’ Series Sauvignon Blanc.

Marynissen has roses, planted at the ends of the vineyard rows. It’s an old practice, an early warning system for mildew, and the roses are now part of the vineyard identity. They’re on the 2024 Farmers’ Series Cabernet Franc.

Icellars has the dogs. Their friendly dogs have long been a part of the welcome there, so they’re on the 2024 Farmers’ Series Syrah.

Putting their names on the front is the point.
Wineries in Ontario share fruit and show up for each other, someone trying their hand at a variety their own site can’t grow, someone else coming through when a region gets a hard year of weather.
The last couple of years of trade upheaval pulled that circle tighter.
You’ve been part of it, reaching for Ontario bottles when there were plenty of other options on the shelf. We’ve come to value all of it more than ever, and this is us saying so.

This is how we’re closing out the summer at the Grange.

Start with the kitchen. The Vineyard Kitchen stays open with food and drink available for purchase for as long as the band plays.

There’s more room to sit on the lawn since last year, with new white picnic tables added to the ones already there. Seating is first come, first served, so we’d still bring a lawn chair.

As for the music: Secret Beach is a Prince Edward County supergroup founded in 2024 by JUNO Award-winning artist Justin Rutledge, with Annelise Noronha, Jeremy Kelly, Ben Vandergaast, Kevin Howley and Alison Burke. Country classics, 90s favourites, and plenty of undersung gems.

Bring a wagon, a dog, a friend. Kids are very welcome here, and a scarf or a ribbon wand gives them something to dance with.

Our vineyard crew has been pruning, tying, and tucking vines since early spring. This weekend, the music is for them.

Join us Sunday, September 13, from 5–7 PM as Mariachi Trio Acapulco takes the Bandstand for a free community concert. It’s a thank-you to crews from wineries across Prince Edward County, many of them away from home for the season, and it falls just ahead of Mexican Independence Day on September 16.

The trio is led by Toronto musician Paco Luviano (Paco Luviano), born in Acapulco, and features Romeo Ovando, one of Canada’s first professional mariachi artists. Their set moves from traditional repertoire to danceable Mexican pop.

Vineyard crews from across the County spend the season in the rows, not just at harvest. They de-hill the vines in early spring, prune, tie, tuck, and leaf strip through summer, keep watch for vine health and disease, bring in the harvest, then tie down and mound up before heading home in late fall. Many are far from their own families for months at a time.

On September 13, it’s time to mark that with an evening at the Bandstand.

Mariachi Trio Acapulco plays from 5 to 7pm, timed around Mexican Independence Day, a holiday that matters to a lot of the people working our vineyards and others across Prince Edward County.
Every year, wineries come out to Grange around this time with their crews. You may see tables marked as VIP, and a special spread for our VIP guests.

🌮 A few Mexican food specialties up at the vineyard-side kitchen for purchase while the band plays (buffet spread is for registered crew members only)

Come celebrate the season with us before harvest wraps up.

You, me, and food at the Grange?

Your table is waiting, whether it’s the hoagie, the burger, the grilled cheese, or a bowl of ginger sesame noodles to take out onto the grounds.
A limited number of picnic tables are now reservable with table service, seatings between 11am and 4pm, Wednesday to Sunday. The Vineyard Kitchen take-out window stays open until 5pm for anyone still wandering.

In the evening, The Grange Bistro takes over indoors. Chef Paul Tobias has curated a locally inspired dinner menu, served Thursday to Saturday, 4pm to 8pm.

Harvest crews from across the County put in long days in the rows before any of it becomes wine. Once a year, we set aside an evening for them at The Grange.

Mariachi Trio Acapulco is back at the Bandstand on Sunday, September 13th from 5 to 7pm, timed around Mexican Independence Day, a holiday that matters to a lot of the people working our vineyards and others across Prince Edward County.

Free entry and open to everyone! There will be Mexican-inspired dishes available at the vineyard-side kitchen while the band plays.

September’s Bandstand lineup has arrived...

And it’s our two biggest concerts of the year, so make sure you arrive early to order your food, grab a spot - and bring your lawn chairs!

Sunday, September 13th, 5 to 7pm: Mariachi Trio Acapulco takes the stage, led by Toronto musician Paco Luviano and featuring Romeo Ovando, one of the first professional Mariachi artists in Canada. Expect everything from traditional Mariachi repertoire to danceable Mexican pop.

Friday, September 18th, 6 to 8pm: Secret Beach, a Prince Edward County supergroup founded by JUNO Award-winning artist Justin Rutledge, plays a mix of country classics, 90s favourites, and undersung gems from yesteryear to today.

RSVP in advance for a complimentary wine pour on arrival, it helps us know how many glasses to pour.

If you grabbed complimentary pour at the Bandstand this summer, there’s a good chance this was the wine in your glass. Crisp, cold wine, live music, and vineyard views all in one evening.

2025 Almanac White: Meyer lemon and lime zest, ripe orchard fruit, a touch of honeycomb, bright acidity, crisp finish.

2025 Almanac Red: bright red cherry and wild strawberry, bay leaf and fresh herbs, black plum, light body, silky and approachable.

The Almanac Series takes its name and inspiration from vintage farmers’ almanacs of the 1930s–1950s, with packaging that honours that agricultural heritage.
