You can tell when a dog trusts the groomer. The bath is the part you can see, but trust is what matters. Paired, this is what a good groom is made of.

At Paw de Janeiro, that is how grooming works. One dog at a time, with time to settle before anything begins. The coat gets clean. The dog stays calm.

Care is part of the service. Book in bio.

Distance can be the easiest to measure, but when it comes to dog walking, it is also the least useful.
In the new article in Paw de Janeiro’s blog, Aline writes about how responsible dog walking is all about structure, and why a walked dog and a calm dog are not the same dog.

The air feels fine, but the pavement doesn’t. Here’s why that matters.

Asphalt absorbs heat all day. By early afternoon, it can be hot enough to burn a dog’s paw pads in under a minute, even when the temperature outside feels comfortable to us. Dogs won’t always show it right away, which is what makes it the quietest risk of the summer.

The 7 second rule is the simplest way to check: place your hand on the pavement. If you can’t hold it there for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for their paws.

On our walks, that test is just the start. Early walks when possible, and when they’re not, we choose shaded paths and grass whenever the ground runs hot. Small habits, repeated every day, are what keep every dog in our care safe.

Try the test before your next walk. And if your dog’s routine could use this kind of attention every day, book your free meet and greet through the link in bio.

Pack walks are one part of what we do at Paw de Janeiro, and they follow the same principle as everything else: professional dog care built around each dog, not the other way around.
Small groups, matched by temperament and energy. Trained, insured walkers who know every dog by name and by habit. Pickup, trail time, water breaks and a calm ride home.
Because good walks are not only exercise. They are structure.
Ready to see if your dog fits the pack? Send us a message or book through the link in bio.
Serving Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Newmarket and surrounding York Region.

These faces were not directed.
Joy looks different on every dog. Some show it in the tail. These ones wear it right on the face.
None of it happens by chance. It comes from routine, from calm, and from someone who actually knows the dog in front of them. Dogs remember how we make them feel. This is what remembering looks like.
Building your dog’s best life.

To leash or not to leash. Every dog gets their own answer.
It’s not about the size, nor about the breed. It comes down to behaviour: do they come back when called? Are they easy around other dogs, or do they need a little more space? Some greet everyone on the trail. Some prefer to keep their distance, and that’s respected just as much.
(And yes, sometimes it’s about who can’t resist rolling in something gross.)
At Paw de Janeiro, this is how we see it: freedom is earned. Structure is chosen. Both are care.
