Nigerian Canadians have exciting news to share!

Acclaimed Nollywood actress, producer, and director Omoni Oboli one of the industry’s most dynamic forces whose YouTube channel has surpassed 320 million views worldwide, and whose award-winning films have topped box offices across Africa and screened on Netflix and at TIFF and Patricia Bebia Canadian Black Television Executive and Filmmaker, have joined forces for a landmark Canada–Nigeria film collaboration.

Together, they are launching NicaPro, a bold new initiative that will produce a slate of six feature films over the next three years, bridging Canadian and Nigerian storytelling while creating opportunities for creative talent across both countries.

This was officially announced October 9th at a CBC media and industry event.

An introduction of the Future Reel Network, a not-for-profit arm that will provide mentorship, training, and opportunities for women in film across Canada and Nigeria, aligning my Heels on Reels initiative with Omoni’s Reel Women’s Network.

It was a historic day Listening to these powerhouse women, Omoni Oboli and Patricia Bebia share their vision reminding us all of what’s possible when creativity, courage, and purpose meet. Their passion for storytelling and commitment to uplifting women in film lit up the room!

We celebrate this bold new chapter for Nollywood in Canada and we’re ready in Oxford County, with our stunning century-old homes, castles, and scenic backdrops, to help bring these stories to life.
