Meet Laura Buss! We’re excited to welcome her as the newest ruminant nutritionist on the Blue Rock team. Raised on a cow-calf operation near Westlock and now based near Longview, Laura brings hands-on experience in both cow-calf and feedlot systems. She holds a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Alberta and an MSc in Animal Biosciences from the University of Guelph.

At Blue Rock, she works with producers to develop practical, science-based nutrition solutions that support herd health, performance, and sustainable grazing. Laura also has been and advocate for the beef industry through the Canadian Cattle Youth Council and the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef. She currently serves as a director with the Foothills Forage and Grazing Association. Please join us in welcoming Laura to the Blue Rock team!

Blue Rock is hiring an enthusiastic Administrative & Technical Assistant for the 2026/2027 season, with the potential to grow into a full-time career. This hands-on role supports our nutritionists with office administration, client service, feed sample collection, feed test summaries, on-farm visits, deliveries, and business communications.

If they are organized, customer-focused, comfortable driving in winter and gravel road conditions, and eager to learn more about the beef industry, we would love to hear from them.
