We're proud to share that 2025/26 was the strongest lending year in the history of Community Futures Thompson Country.

Over the fiscal year, we approved 13 loans totaling $2.2 million, helping local entrepreneurs expand operations, modernize equipment, acquire businesses, and create jobs. Together with our lending partners, these investments leveraged an additional $3.55 million, resulting in more than $5.8 million invested in businesses throughout the Thompson-Nicola region.

The impact was significant:

•100+ jobs created or maintained.
•Record-breaking loan originations of $2.3 million.
•Support provided to women, youth, and entrepreneurs living with disabilities.

Also, our lending activity reflected the regional economy's diversity. Investments were made across tourism, construction, agriculture, food services, hospitality, retail, skilled trades, and technology-enabled businesses. Tourism was particularly active this year, accounting for several of our largest projects and highlighting the sector's continued importance as a driver of local investment, employment, and economic activity. We also supported businesses ranging from construction firms and agricultural operations to restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, HVAC contractors, and emerging service-based enterprises.

This milestone was made possible through the trust of our clients and the collaboration of our lending partners, including BDC, BMO, RBC, and many others. Together, we're helping entrepreneurs access the capital they need to grow, innovate, and strengthen our local economy.

As we look ahead to 2026/27, we're excited to build on this momentum and continue supporting entrepreneurs and businesses throughout the Thompson-Nicola region.
