🧡 Reflecting on a Year of Collaboration and Growth --
As 2023 comes to a close, Four Directions Management Services wants to express our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible First Nations, organizations, corporations, and governments that have entrusted us with their visions, dreams, and aspirations throughout the year. It has been a truly inspiring journey, and we are honoured to have been a part of your stories of progress and positive change.

🤝 Empowering Partnerships: A Year in Review --
This year has been marked by impactful collaborations and meaningful projects that have allowed us to contribute to the growth and prosperity of the First Nations we serve. We extend our sincere thanks to each of our valued clients for the trust you have placed in FDMS. Here's a glimpse into some of the remarkable achievements we've shared together:

1. BC Hydro - Facilitated dialogue on potential equity ownership opportunities with First Nations.

2. BC Museums Association - Development of a new Strategic Plan with reconciliation as a cornerstone for the sector's vision.

3. Coastal First Nations - Development of their inaugural Strategic Plan to implement the Fisheries Resources Reconciliation Agreement.

4. Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI) - Conducted an Indigenous Relations Workshop for ETSI-BC Recovery Advisors.

5. Enbridge - Provided strategic facilitation for dialogue on equity ownership and inclusion of "Indigenous" in ESG corporate standards, as well as, in the formation of an Indigenous Advisory Group.

6. First Nations Fisheries Council - Facilitated trilateral collaboration for the restoration and protection of Wild Pacific Salmon.

7. First Nations Health Authority – Strategic facilitation for the Northern Addictions Engagement Forum, Interior Region Nations Strategic Planning, and "In Plain Sight" Task Team facilitation.

8. First Nations Leadership Council and First Nations Emergency Services Society - Developed the Disaster Risk Reduction Action Plan for First Nations in BC and supporting trilateral negotiations on emergency management.

9. First Nations Major Projects Coalition (FNMPC) - Strategic facilitation support for the FNMPC Values Driven Economy Conference, members meetings, and governance support.
10. Finance Canada - Strategic facilitation regarding the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion and economic benefit sharing opportunities.

11. Gitanyow Hereditary Chiefs - Facilitated dialogue to advance recognition of Gitanyow title, rights, and ayook.

12. Gitxaala Nation – Development of 5-year Strategic Plan.
13. KPMG and BC Local Government Climate Action Plan - Engaged Modern Treaty Nations to increase awareness and understanding of LGCAP.

14. Llheidli Tenneh First Nation – Development of a 5-year Strategic Plan.

15. Lower Nicola Indian Band – Development of a 5-year Strategic Plan and 2022/2023 Annual Report.

16. Ministry of Health - Strategic facilitation for Northern First Nations Alliance and FNHA Northern Health NW Working Group.

17. Ministry of Water, Lands, and Resource Stewardship - Strategic facilitation for the Collaborative Indigenous Stewardship Framework and Annual Stewardship Forums Gathering.

18. Ministry of Water, Lands, and Resource Stewardship – Facilitation of the Guardians Working Group and engagement for co-development of a Guardians training initiative.

19. Nicola 5 - Strategic Planning for their Water Governance Project under the Collaborative Stewardship Framework.

20. Saulteau First Nation and Oil and Gas Commission - Facilitated dialogue for changes in permitting following the Blueberry River Supreme Court ruling.

21. SAY Lands - Provided strategic planning, facilitation, and communications strategy development supporting their shared work coming together as three distinct communities (Aitchelitz, Skowkale, and Yakweakwioose).

22. Secwepemc Child and Family Services - Board Leadership Training for the SCFSA Board of Directors.

23. Skeena ESI - Supported the creation of a collaboratively developed shared vision and goals for co-management and stewardship between the SSAF and Regional Managers.

24. Skowkale Strategic Plan - Developed a Strategic Plan for Skowkale.

25. SplatsĂ­n Stsmamlt Advisory Committee (SSAC) - Conducted strategic planning with the newly formed community-based group committed to the well-being of SplatsĂ­n children and families.

26. StĂł:lĹŤ XwexwĂ­lmexw Government - Supporting SXG leadership and staff with strategic planning and treaty negotiation support.

27. Tkémlups te Secwepemc - Developed Le Estwicwéý Community Healing and Wellness Plan which is a crucial undertaking arising from a history burdened with the painful legacy of the Kamloops Indian Residential School.

28. Tl’etinqox Government - Developed a 5-year Strategic Plan and departmental plan for their Community Development department.

29. Tourism Ch’illiwack – Supported the implemented of the Reconciliation Action Plan we helped them create through a facilitated workshop advancing TRC’s Calls to Action and UNDRIP in the Tourism sector.

30. Tseshaht First Nation - Developed the Alberni Valley Toxic Poisoned Drugs Crisis Strategy in response to the opioid crisis.

Our work is guided by a deep commitment to support the aspirations and well-being of First Nations across British Columbia. In 2023, FDMS continued our commitment to building bridges of better understanding, fostering meaningful dialogue, facilitating strategic planning, and supporting First Nations in various capacities. Thought of the Day - I have always been a dreamer. Growing up I always wanted better for myself and my family. I knew that good forward progress relies upon taking calculated risks. I also understood that risks must also be balanced with reward. I am grateful that I was taught that the only person who never makes a mistake is someone who does nothing!
