Two years ago, the Red Bridge was destroyed. This Saturday, we’re gathering to mark that anniversary and continue to express the need to replace it.

Bring a sign, wear red, and make some noise. Details below. This bridge mattered to our community, and it’s time to bring it back.

The City of Kamloops and Tḱemlúps te Secwépemc invite residents to gather on the second anniversary of the Red Bridge’s destruction to commemorate the bridge’s history, share what it meant to the community, and demonstrate to the Province, through strong public support, the need to replace this important connection between the two communities.

The City and Tḱemlúps te Secwépemc are also encouraging the public to share photos, stories, and memories of the Red Bridge, calling on the Province to take action and .

Every great business starts with an idea.

Last week, we celebrated entrepreneurship at every stage.

World Entrepreneurs’ Day was a chance to celebrate the ideas, hard work, and determination our community’s entrepreneurs bring to their work. Lemonade Day gave young entrepreneurs the opportunity to put their ideas into action, learn about running a business, and build confidence along the way.

For Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc members, whether you have an idea and aren’t sure where to start, or you already have a business and are ready for the next step, we offer business guidance to help you move forward.

Last Friday, we hosted two Sweet Spots for Lemonade Day Kamloops, put on by Community Futures Kamloops & Area.

We had two young entrepreneurs set up at Chief Louis Crossing: one in front of Sweláps Market and one in front of Chief Louis Pharmacy.

It was great seeing the youth sharing their ideas, serving up lemonade, and getting hands-on experience running their own small businesses.

Friday was also World Entrepreneurs’ Day, making it an especially fitting way to celebrate and support this generation of entrepreneurs.
