Morning low back pain: here is our follow up to our previous discussion of poor sleeping positions and using a sleep aid to help with joint and disc pain. Here we discuss the muscles that contribute to compression of the discs and joints and what we can do in the clinic to help. If this is something bothering you and stopping you from doing things in daily life, give us a call so we can help you as well. Shockwave, laser, active release, acupuncture, kinesio tape.

Are you getting morning low back or hip/glute pain. This can be once in a while or even consistently every morning. Often it is from being in a bad twisted position all night and that puts strain on the ligaments joints and discs of your low back. We use a pillow to help with alignment of our low back and hips. The pillow helps keep us in a good straight position. Also Make sure to have a good pillow that supports the head and keeps it aligned with your spine. If your a back sleeper, put the pillow underneath your knees to flatten the back if it is still uncomfortable try a pillow or towel underneath the low back. Hopefully this will help put less strain on the low back and if pain persists make sure you see your healthcare practitioner for more help.

Hockey injuries: when it comes to sports do you wanna make sure you have the proper fitting equipment. When it comes to hockey ice skates are very important to feel comfortable and don’t rub excessively against specific parts of your foot results can be lace bite, bursitis, HangLunds deformity. during your sport, you can try foam, and supportive foam donuts to relieve pressure. when it comes to treatment, we often use laser to decrease inflammation and swelling, acupuncture at a high frequency, decrease pain, and acupuncture to stimulate muscle contraction for swelling and pain control. I know equipment can be expensive, but make sure it fits properly to avoid these injuries.

Groin injuries! that Nagging injury we all try to work through. You need to address your soul as adductor Magnus, abductor muscles. You can do some self-care by manual treatment in the abductor muscles and the psoas/hip flexor area (see video). Remember, it shouldn’t be tight when you’re playing as it might result into further injury or tearing. See your healthcare practitioner if it’s lasting for more than 1 to 2 weeks.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at 613-505-5000 or [email protected].

We see results so should you!
