Welcome to Bottle Busters Kelowna! We are a Kelowna-based recycling pickup service. We will pick up any recyclable bottles with a deposit and, for a small fee, any recycling that can't go in your curbside bin (glass, flexible plastics, styrofoam - see the guide posted on this page).

Q: I'm interested! What happens next? How do I book a pickup?
A: The first step is to send us a message and let us know a few pieces of important information:

- Your area and address for pickup
- What you need picked up
- What days & times work best for you* (see below)

* Right now due to our opposite work schedules, pickups are only being booked on weekends. Also, it's important to let us know what you need picked up so that if any non-curbside recycling is part of the pickup, we can ensure that we will have enough room in our vehicle for everything - one trip to take it all off your hands, quick and easy!

Q: Where will you drive to for pickups?
A: At this point in time, we will pickup anywhere within Kelowna. If we are able to expand to two vehicles down the road, we would like to be able to offer pickups in West Kelowna and Lake Country too.

Q: When you say "bottles," do you mean -any- type of plastic bottle?
A: We will take any non-deposit recyclable bottles off your hand for a small fee of $5. Refundable bottles are part of our free pickup service - this would include wine bottles, pop cans, beer bottles, and so forth.

Q: Speaking of fees - why are you charging for recycling pickup when you're going to the depot anyways?
A: For the price of a small coffee, we are happy to help you cross one more item off your to-do list by removing your need to visit a recycling depot in person to dispose of any recycling that won't be accepted in a curbside bin. This leaves you free to get on with your day and spend your time doing something much more enjoyable.

Q: Anything else I should know?
A: Please ensure that any bottles requiring a pickup are as clean as possible and empty of any leftover liquids. Lids can be left on or removed, it doesn't matter to the depot, but we ask that any milk jugs be thoroughly rinsed out with the lids left on.

Hello and welcome to Bottle Busters! Based in Kelowna, BC, we offer FREE pickup of your bottles. At present we are servicing West Kelowna to Lake Country only.

Bottle pickup is free, and 20% of all proceeds from recycled bottles will be used to support the Vernon-based non-profit All Our Family Outreach.

For a flat $5 fee we can also pick up any glass bottles/containers, styrofoam, milk or plant-based containers that have a deposit added (see below), or plastic bags/overwrap you need gone.

PICKUP POLICY

If you're wanting a pickup, please message us through this page to arrange a day and time. Please make sure your bottles are rinsed prior to pickup for hygienic reasons.

See our business hours on this page for pickup availability.

Due to limited vehicle space, if you are needing pickup for more than 3 bags of bottles, or if you're wanting cases of wine bottles picked up, you must notify us beforehand to ensure that we have enough room for what you need taken away.

The same policy applies if you're needing a combination of both bottles and depot-only recycling picked up. Again this is just to ensure that we'll have enough room in our vehicle.

WHAT ABOUT MILK PRODUCT CONTAINERS?

As of Feb 1, any ready-to-drink milk and plant-based beverage cartons, plastic jugs, as well as metal and glass containers, had a 10 cent deposit added to their price. Containers dated after Feb 1 can be returned to any recycling depot for a return, same as plastic bottles.

It is very important that these containers are rinsed out and cleaned properly, as dirty containers will contaminate the material and prevent it from being recycled.
