Every day I use a different lens on my digital and mirrorless cameras, to find something unique to film or photograph. I find some hidden gems and many of these are for sale!

We have on hand several nice sets of lenses for video and cinema filming! These include prime and zoom lenses for Canon FD, Canon EF, Nikon F, Yashica, Contax, Zeiss, Minolta, Pentax K, and Pentax M42, as well as for Panasonic, Lumix, SONY, and others, both native lenses and especially ones with adapters.

A recent purchaser that was in the showroom this week remarked that this is the largest inventory of cameras and lenses he had ever seen! Frankly, I do not know of one that has more than 750 items for sale like we do, but I am sure there are some much larger, but I doubt they have as wide of a variety as we do, at least not in BC, that I know of!

The photo below for example was taken with a rare, seldom-found Soviet 150mm f6.3 macro lens that I custom-mounted onto a bellows and shot this on my mirrorless GH4 (which is for sale). Many people overlook macro lenses yet they can be some of the most exciting photos you take! We have cameras and lenses in stock for videos and filming. Here is a recent video I did on the Sony FS700 camera on this very flower, taken with a vintage 50-year-old Bushnell Bausch & Lomb 95-230mm f4.5 lens (and I have a similar one in stock, THIS ONE is not for sale!) ANYONE that does not want to get vaccinated needs to watch this video of a man that also refused to do so. He also infected his own children by not getting vaccinated. PLEASE watch, post and share. This man regrets not getting vaccinated and the thought of not having the chance to give his daughter away at the altar at her wedding. He asked his 14-year-old son to be there if he dies.

Sometimes we all need to step back, quiet our minds and think about new ideas. Most of the time we are too busy to let our minds come up with new ideas to solve what we are seeking in life.

My father passed away 24 years ago today. He built some amazing buildings and residential developments in his lifetime, raised three children, and retired three times, only to go back to work each time because he loved what he did. Each morning I start my day with a relaxing cup of coffee and try a different lens on the camera to see what comes into the fountain in our yard. Today I chose a vintage 1967 Carl Zeiss Sonnar 300mm f4 and shot this video in 1080p HD at 120 frames per second on the SONY FS700 camera. I was very fortunate to get some nice footage of American Goldfinches but this one of a bright red House sparrow is my favorite. Ironically the color of the bird nearly matched the color of the flowers in the background. About halfway through a wasp flies through the frame.

Gun violence IS a major contributing factor in nearly 70 people being killed in Chicago this past weekend according to this CNN article. Nationwide hundreds of people die violently, either shot, stabbed, or otherwise killed EVERY WEEK. Yes, guns ARE to blame, so are violent video games, TV shows, and movies. A quick perusal of YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Showcase or any other movie channel, and even mainstream TV, has "action films" that are thinly disguised as violent films. Most of them depict killing other people, often in the name of "revenge" and "justice" against others. How many movie plots today are "man or woman loses loved one, takes out revenge on those that killed them", thus replicating the vicious cycle. Others are "one last mission" and the "hero" comes out of retirement to do one last job. These include many of the "action heroes" we all look up to, but WHY? They accept those roles and we keep paying to watch them! WHO ends the cycle here?

Many videos and online games are as violent or more so than the films, often showing violence against women, children, and the public in general. We become too desensitized against the killing and accept it as part of society and that spills out into the streets in real life. People die because of our lack of common sense and life becomes too cheap when you see it taken so often in the media, TV, movies, and games.

Too many feature killing people, with vehicles, knives, and guns, as part of their 'entertainment value. From the time kids can sit up straight many are daily watching the violent video and online games that promote killing and many even keep score of the bodies. Hollywood and the game's manufacturers are just as culpable as the firearm manufacturers, more so in my opinion, as they glorify and promote violence, by any means possible, all in the name of entertainment. Shame on them! The human brain cannot differentiate between what it sees in media and what it sees in real life!

As a TV and movie producer that has projects in development, I will not fall into this trap and succumb to that disease-riddled stigma of producing any films that promote violence or killing people. I may never win any awards for my work, but I will not be adding to the media carnage that exists in real life as well.

We all, as a society, must find a way to stop allowing ourselves to feed into this, and hopefully, someday, we stop putting this trash into our brains and keep our children from doing the same. When you see a violent film, turn it off, stop supporting it, WALK OUT of the theatre and demand a refund. Stop letting your children play GTA and other games that showcase and promote violence. Stand up and help reshape our world, starting today.
