You don't need it, until you need it.
Then you really need it. This is a conversation can be a darker one if something has already happened, but at the same time a very empowering one as it can also heal and prevent.

What can be done with the body and mind is absolutely incredible with the correct training.

It doesn't have to be violent, it doesn't have to crazy, it doesn't have to be scary.

It just has to work.

I teach self defence to women in my area because I get it, I've had to use it in in multiple situations and I've had my own students use it to keep themselves safe.

You don't have to be bigger than your attacker, or stronger than your attacker which is, lets face it - hard. If the attacker is a 240 pound guy that has that strong man strength. We don't do it, we simply won't outmuscles him. Doesn't mean we can't outsmart him. He's expecting us to scream and yell and attack, but what does he not expect? The victim to stay calm and take back control of the situation.

Hard, can be. Impossible? Far from it.

Sometimes people just don't address the fact that self-defence techniques are tools that everyone should have in their back pockets, all the time. Like a hidden superhero powers.

Then other times, they realize too late they need self defence after something has happened.

Be one of the few percent that learn self defence before something happens, so something may never happen. Predators want an easy victim, they don't want someone confident, strong and smart - that's too much work. Too much risk on their part too. So even if you learn the skills, and never get attacked - it very could well be that you held yourself differently within condense.

It's time to pimp up those superhero powers, under those plain clothes.
