TONY'S TIPS:
QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN CONSIDERING APPLIANCE REPAIR VS REPLACEMENT:
-As per Tony, our senior technician with 39 years experience in appliance repair.

1) Do you like your appliance & the way it functions?
Older appliances are typically a simpler design & easier to use. Newer appliances can get more complicated with extra mechanisms = more to malfunction.
Modern day appliances take far more time to complete functions than the older models. Why? -Newer models are built with higher energy & water restrictions making motors smaller with lighter components, regulated by sensors & computer boards. Smaller motors running longer are worn-out sooner & computer components are not so tolerant to hot, cold or damp conditions that appliances provide.

2) What will it cost to repair?
Many appliances at the landfill haven't even been diagnosed. Tony estimates that 80% of the time, the repair cost is much less than the customer anticipated.

3) Are parts still available for repair?
Eventually, manufacturers discontinue production of parts for older models. At that point we would search for available alternatives to keep those good old machines going.
