🔥 Celebrating 5 Years of Evan at Valley Communications!

Evan has officially been part of the Valley Communications family for 5 years! And if that wasn’t impressive enough, Evan brought another 11 years of dispatch experience with him from a previous communications centre.

Over the years, Evan has brought experience, knowledge, dedication, and plenty of laughs to the dispatch floor. His commitment to supporting our team and helping keep our communities safe is something we truly appreciate. ❤️

And, of course, we can’t forget to mention that Evan is also a supervisor…
Which means he has somehow survived years of supervising us. 😂
More importantly, he’s somehow survived 1 whole year of that as my supervisor. I think we both deserve an award for that. 🏆🤣

Congratulations on 5 years with Valley Evan, and 16 years of answering the call! We’re lucky to have you on our team. Here’s to many more years behind the radio! 🚒📻❤️

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of Firefighter James Belen.

James was, first and foremost, a deeply valued member of the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department. He had also recently joined the Valley Communications team, where he was training to become a fire dispatcher. From the moment he arrived, James brought an eagerness to learn, a willingness to serve, and a genuine kindness that left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. His dedication to helping others and his unwavering commitment to the fire service embodied the very spirit of our first responder family.

Today, we stand with our brothers and sisters in the fire service as we grieve this tremendous loss. Our hearts are with James’ family, his friends, his fellow firefighters, and everyone whose lives he touched. May they find strength in the memories they shared and comfort in knowing the impact James made will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Firefighter Belen. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service, compassion, and dedication will live on in those who continue to answer the call. We’ll take it from here. ❤️🖤

Today, the fire service has lost one of its own—a brother whose commitment to serving others will never be forgotten. James answered the call with courage, compassion, and dedication, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege to serve alongside him. A true friend and someone who always found a way to help anyone in need. A selfless man to the end.

On behalf of our department, we extend our deepest condolences to James' family, friends, and colleagues. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. We will grieve alongside you.

May we honor his legacy by continuing to serve with the same selflessness and strength that he demonstrated throughout his life.
