Another great Masonry contractor in The Valley. New in business, but not new to the business. Jamie Brown has spent many years honing his skills with Lloyd Leblanc Masonry. Anyone who has had Lloyd for Masonry work, is certainly familiar with Jamie, his ability, and work ethic. Good luck Jamie, and all the best.

New logo just in, big shout out to panda print in newminas 💯👌

Drivers…..this is 7000 pounds of truck coming at you with a green light right of way. It doesn’t stop as easily as you may suspect. If you’re not going to pay attention, at least consult with your passenger….they are the ones that are going to have to deal with a truck coming through the door at them.

A good reminder for stove owners, about proper disposal of ashes. Ashes and coals out of your stove can stay hot not just for several hours, but several days in the right conditions. Also a reminder to place ash cans and receptacles in a safe area, well away from the house. On the back deck outside the door is never a good place to set down your ash cans. I have seen countless burn marks on wooden steps and decks from hot ashes in a metal container.

Well, we’ve almost made it through another winter. Now, with a little bit of warmer weather it’s SNIRT, and SNIT season…..(us dog owners know what SNIT season is…..).
Soon it will be time to think about doing some spring cleaning.
Early cleaning, and even early booking for Fall cleaning is always a good idea.

Well, sounds as if we are gonna get whacked with a good winter storm tonight and tomorrow. Will be a good time to keep the fires going and wait to see what happens. The 3 amigos have decided on their spot already for the coming weather. They definitely have also discovered that outside the door is not Mexico….
Stay safe and warm everyone…..

A Happy New Years wish to all of my great Clients. 2025 has come and gone, along with the many ups and downs that a year around the sun brings with it. The recent loss of my Father is not the best way to end a year. He was always a great supporter of his Family and everything that they did. I will miss him greatly, and continue on as he would have encouraged.
The year also brought many good days. The continued support from my Clients, new, and old is always appreciated. Without the support of my Clients and Family, non of this would be possible.
Through the sunny hot days, to the cold less than friendly days. The easy tasks, more challenging days, and yes, the dog bites. This job can sometimes makes you wonder why you do it. The early mornings, the late days when you arrive home well after dark and realize that your day isn’t done when the truck gets parked. There is often equipment to fix, or get ready for the next day. Calls to make, emails and messages to return, all while trying to catch up with your life at home. Those are all things that come and go regularly with this type of business.
So, as the New Year begins, I will continue getting in the truck. Visiting Customers, seeing the sights, and hopefully finding everyone healthy and happy throughout 2026. When I get home at the end of the day, my Miss, along with TheThree Amigos will be waiting for my arrival.
Happy New Year everyone, and I hope to see you in 2026.

There were a few less than friendly days last week on the road, hoping for some better travelling this week.

Ahhh…..just got done unclogging this chimney, and wood furnace. Beautiful +12 outside today. Not even out of the driveway and the wood furnace is being lit up again. Can’t think why it would be clogged up. It’s just too warm to be loading up a wood furnace. Furnaces do not work well until it gets colder. They overheat, and tell the thermostat to shut off the draft, and create creosote the whole time they are burning. This one is destined for another clog, or worse a chimney fire. I’ll get another call before Christmas, mark my words.
There’s only so much preventive cleaning can do. You have to be able to help yourself too.
Give me a fighting chance here.

There’s a nugget for someone’s sock this Christmas…..
I always say….I’ll let you know when it’s time to worry…..this is getting closer to the concerning end of the spectrum.

Every once in a while I will get a complaint call. Not very often, but everyone can have an off day where you screw something up. You just have to deal with it the best you can, and carry on. This is the first time someone called up and made a complaint that they didn’t think the bill was high enough……🤔

Keep out of the woods everyone. It’s so dry out there. I seen on one site that a discarded aluminum pop can started a fire in someone’s back yard, that was the actual fire investigators cause . The sun reflecting off the aluminum produced enough heat to start the fire. That’s pretty scary. I was working out at Aylesford Lake today and a little rain shower came down, but it was accompanied by some thunder and lightning. Looks like that same lightning cell started a forest fire burning right now in West Dalhousie. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for some nice slow steady rain, and no lightning…..
