I started knitting and crocheting when I was a young girl and just never stopped. With a tight budget and 3 daughters I learned to sew and once i discovered the serger there was no stopping me! I love taking on new projects and lately my new obsession, thanks to my dear friend Melissa, who inspires me on a daily basis, is making mittens from up-cycled sweater and various other clothing items. I love taking something old and re purposing it.:-) Felting wool for quality mitts that will last for years while playing with all of the different wool's, colons and patterns provided endless ideas. I fall in love with each pair! While I have always handmade items for my family and friends, I now have a lot more time to spend "playing". I was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disease and have since had a lot more time to take on more fun projects. Thanks to social media, people began to expressing interests in my work, and I have been trying to meet that demand ever since. I especially enjoy getting requests to make something from personal items that they want to re-purpose, mostly for sentimental reasons and with some pretty specials stories attached. :-) For example; I recently created a soft warm pair of mitts from the favourite sweater of a ladies husband who had passed away.
